I'd seriously look into trading him for any tangible asset before losing him for nothing.
- jmatchett383

That's true. I can't imagine him being so bad that it's a negative contract by the end of the year. There should be trade value

Honestly, depends how the team shapes out in a year. I want Mac to go but don't care if one of Weise, Read, Laughton or Cousins goes. Raffl I'm not a huge fan of but he's a responsible player and a matural LWer.

Pure hypothetical but if jake has a season like last year...50-60 pts while continuing to look out of sorts, is there anyone that would think about exposing him? I'd have to look at that personally
- Just5

Gotta look at Giroux, as well. After all, he's older than Jake.

Understood, and I'm certainly not saying I think it will happen, or should happen, with Voracek.

But the hypothetical is interesting, because teams have to be ruthless when you consider cap dollars vs. production. It will never be like the NFL, because of the guaranteed contract. But like Bill Walsh used to say, "better a year too soon than a year too late," and if a team looked at a guy like, say, Ryan Getzlaf's last season and thought his slide was going to be steeper than you imagined, I'd have to give at least a few moment's thought about exposure -- sometimes, you gotta take the possible out if it's there

Not directed at you, but at the point. Many people still have it in their head that players are routinely getting 80-100 points in this league.

Hell I had a guy tell me he thinks Max Domi is going to be an 85 point player. I said that would make him 3rd in the league in scoring.

Sometimes a slide isn't a slide, its a league wide trend towards lower scoring totals.

Does this "a guy" have a last name that would fit in on Full House?

I don't remember, he also thought Morin was a bust. I tend to block things like that from a memory.

Could the Flyers make a handshake agreement to resign Mason AND Neurvirth AFTER the expansion draft? Almost like an expansion draft loophole to protect both goalies?

Yes

Las Vegas will probably also be doing some handshake deals for post Expansion signings.

I think there will be several deals like that. You may see several pending UFAs not resigned prior to the expansion draft.

Well, they're most likely losing one after this year. I don't see them having the space to resign both.

The most notable players to wear number 15 on a long-term basis include current Flyers defenseman Michael Del Zotto as well as past players such as Terry Crisp, Rich Sutter and Pat Falloon.

I think your Couturier projection might be a bit ambitious. He's never recorded 40 points in a season yet, 55 seems like a pretty big jump. He's got so much defensive responsibility on his plate. 55 would be great. Would make him an all-star caliber player.

This would have been much funnier if they were playing the Black Hawks.
