maybe the D will be pretty good. Rielly will really take charge and showcase himself for the captaincy. Zaits has Klingberg comparisons and is a great skater. Gardiner is underrated. He has his moments. Carrick will continue to impress. Polak and Hunwick round things out.

A solid steady goaltender will also do wonders for the defence.

Komarov, Bozak, Brown
Martin, Matthews, Nylander
Lupul, Laich, Michalek


Martin isnt coming here to protect Laich and old man Czech. Babs used Lupul down in the lineup last year anyways. This is the line up until Matthews moves up to 2nd line

I really like Martin on that wing and Lupul down....just been criticized for doing it. A lot of people thing Martin isn't good enough to play up. But I like it.

It's not like Lupul is going to cripple the Leafs cap for their Cup run this year or anything. It's another developmental year. Just play him, if he gets hurt he gets hurt, if not, maybe he plays well enough for an expansion claim or trade. Burn another year of his contract in a year where they are not contending anyway. Perfect timing.

He is not Austen Mathews & certainly not Connor McDavid so what is all the scuffle. Let's say he is a top 10 pick that is up for grabs. Also, let's say he is the second coming of Eric Lindros (which he is not) so I certainly hope that the Leafs & if they do their homework & do not invite a little brat.

Right!? It wouldn't kill me to see us gain another Top 5 pick in the draft. I think next year is the year we see massive improvement.
