Cody Franson's a much better D right? - Garnie
No. Franson is the typical 3rd pair 2nd pp unit D man that needs to be sheltered in order to have a positive impact. |

I agree. I think if he is more of a second pairing guy, that will be much better, but unfortunately Murray has signed too many players to too long/expensive contracts (Stoner/Bieksa/Despres).
I wish we could keep Fowler, but he will fetch the most return. I'd prefer the Ducks go with:
Lindholm / Manson
Fowler / Vats
Theodore / Despres
But with Bieksa's NMC, we are stuck...for now. - CptAhab
Fowler did have his best underlying numbers over the past 3 seasons in the time he was paired with Vatanen. |

James, In one blog you write how exciting the Coyotes will be this year. How John Chayka has made such great moves. Now this blog you write half the team are weak or terrible. It seems like you're trolling. But that cant be what your doing. I don't see any logic in doing this. You are a blogger for this team, whether you like it or not. |

Dude he is suggesting the Yotes go after the bargain bin UFA forwards still out there to improve the lack of forward depth. |

He could probably be a solid #2 if he had a partner that drove possession and wasn't relied on for D zone starts.
It's funny to me how guys like Fowler becomes a punchline just because he never turned out to be a star. Reminds me of how people treated Myers in Buffalo, or how people are starting to treat Ristolainen. |

The bargain bin is crap. Brad Boyes, Tanguay! The Yotes should and probably will bring up Strome, Dvorak and Perlini. Why Brad Boyes? Who could he replace? |

You are a (frank)ing tool who clearly does not watch or follow Ducks hockey. A few weeks back it was how terrible Bob Murray has been as a GM. Now it is Fowler. Stop (frank)ing commenting on our players or organization you piece of poop |

Really, James? JVR for Fowler is terrible for the Leafs?
You obviously haven't watched Fowler very often. There is no way JVR lands you a defenseman like Fowler. - Bruiniak

Still judging players soley on their HERO charts I see. Analytics are fine and all that but they really do not tell the whole story. You need to know the game a little bit too.
Having said that I still can't believe Tampa traded Deangelo to the Coyotes. I saw him play in Sarnia many times and he is a very dynamic talent. If someone gives him a chance he will be a great player. I can say the exact same sentence about Chychrun actually too. Somehow the Coyotes traded their way into 2 great dmen. |

2 quick points....
First off, we see another typical 'Tanner Flip' in this post. Three weeks ago DeAngelo was a 'lock' to make the team two weeks ago 'DeAngelo has almost no shot to make the opening day roster' and now today....DeAngelo is back in there with a great shot to make the team.
My head swims reading this...what is it Tanner? Hello?
Secondly, Tanner's stats are applicable here in Fowler's case and frankly, they show me exactly what u would have expected to see watching him play. His 5v5 scoring was terrible last year and he kept being spoonfed the best PP minutes. In my opinion, Lumpy should have been getting those minutes.....hopefully Fowler moves on and we see Lumpy get the opportunity to bring his offensive contributions up to par with his defensive contributions.

I like Franson more than that. I think he gets a bad rap, he's pretty much always put up the stats of a first line player. His shot suppression and possession numbers are always 1st line worthy at least. The fact that he shots right and can run a PP is even better.
I still maintain he's one of the most underappreciated, quietly excellent players in the NHL. And he's better than Cam Fowler by a degree that is hard to express without sounding hyperbolic. |

I don't get how anyone can take this from what I wrote. The Coyotes are young and exciting. Also, out of the 11 forwards they currently have signed for next year who aren't on ECL contracts, at least five of them are (for one reason or another) terrible options.
Their defense is still kind of a mess.
This doesn't in any way contradict them being young, exciting and fun to watch. Nor does it contradict that Chakya has done good so far.
Maloney may have left the cupboards well-stocked, but he left the current NHL team in a mess. And while the Coyotes will be fun to watch, they have a lot of work to do at the NHL level to get better.
Finally, those bargain basement guys I mentioned are excellent, cheap players. |

They'd both be better than Duaphin or Richardson. |

Hero Charts are a handy visual tool for showing something easier than writing out a bunch of numbers, but just because I show one of them doesn't mean I didn't dig deeper into a players overall stats. |

This job requires great and amazing patience. That's all I can really say. Please show me where I ever said anything about Deangalo being a 'lock'?
My theory: people don't read very closely and miss a lot of details. |

If I could go back a couple of weeks in your 'material' I could easily show you. Fortunately for you, you post enough that your older material becomes inaccessible very quickly. If there is one thing I do (and I wish I didn't) is pay attention to the detail in your writing.
