Cambria War Memorial. Great arena, saw some ECHL hockey there 10-15 yrs ago.. Do you get to any games currently? Think they play NAHL hockey out of there now.

I catch a few Johnstown games, they are the Tomahawaks now, but haven't been to a Syracuse game since about '81.

Where did they play in Norfolk? I think I saw the Admirals play when I was stationed down there.

I'm not saying that King James deserves that much, nor that he does not. But of all the "team" sports Basketball is by far the most individual of them all. If you consider there are a possible 240 team minutes in hoops, and LeBron plays 45 of those...he is at about 20%. In hockey, five men at 60 minutes is 300 minutes. Say Toews plays 20 minutes a night. He is at 6 or 7% of man minutes. So it's a far more team effort in hockey than basketball. But still...there is no doubt that James in the best in the NBA right now.

Still the primer for the landing spot, no matter what any of us think:

“We’ve looked at depth charts with some teams and talked about them,” said, Vesey’s agent, Peter Fish, “There’s obviously a lot of thought that goes into it: The city, the coach, the GM, the salary structure, how a team treats their players in the second and third contracts down the road.”

Gulp.

IMO, best talent ever.

Not the most accomplished - he needs a couple more championships to get into that class photo, I think - but even considering Jordan, at 6'8" and 250, James has the quickness, speed, size, power, and skills to be the best talent ever - and (as we saw against the Warriors) a complete 94-foot player.

Haha!! Bobby Melton! Love it. Great clip and great knowledge too. I really miss it.

Thissssssss. Giant Thumbs up.

I talk to the athletic director all the time. He stated that he loves hockey but it will never come back to UIC. To sum it up he said because of Title 9 (Which I think is a good thing by the way) UICs current population is 60% female therefore it must have at least 55% of its varsity athletes be female. UIC already has a hard time hitting that mark. UIC is in year 2 of Varsity girls soccer which helps the $s jive.

But it is a shame. Hockey at Racine and Harrison was awesome.

Raw athletic talent I probably agree. But he has yet to develop a got to set of moves. We shall see how he ages. His post game is still garbage. I actually think he doesn't have that good of feet. I know he's worked with Hakeem in the past on post moves. I think his lack of fluidity and foot work holds him back from being the greatest ever. As his athleticism declines will he adapt? Maybe. We will find out soon enough. Anyways sorry for bball talk back to hockey.

If we don't get him, at least it looks like Vesey ends up in the Eastern Conference.

I am just as interested in the Hawks' back-up plan as I am in seeing Vesey inked.

Team confirmed our list last night, now hearing LasVegas has eliminated all 3 Hawks names & chosen something else. Didn't like fan response?

Probably worried games against the Blackhawks would become pseudo-home games for the Chicago Blackhawks, sorta like what happens in Arizona.

Two things:

A) I remember reading that along with the three Hawks names, two others were being submitted through the LV Hockey org.

B) Could have been red herrings out there to get people talking about their name, which has happened.

Arturs Irbe already has that nailed down.

Like that's not going to happen. Nashville is fun. Phoenix during spring training is fun. But Vegas? Out of control. I can't wait for some of the stories of guys f'n up out there.

Am I the only one that wants to see Panarin at 1LW and Vesey at 2LW? Balance the scoring lines to two lethal lines.

A generational talent no doubt at all. Guy can do everything. Not a big NBA guy, but man I can't go against Jordan. Still the best.

WHA was AHL level hockey right? Here are WHA rinks I was at,

1. Chicago Amphitheater - You were right on top of the action, could talk to announcers in the bar at the west end before the game. Talk to Chet Coppeck between the penalty boxes. Small rink, fast action, the kid line, when the circus was in town the rink smelled and you could visit the animals behind the stands.

2. Indianapolis - Market Square Arena right downtown, big rink, way too big for the crowds at the game. This is where most of the cougars moved after they folded in Chicago. This is also where Gretzty played his first pro games in the WHA for the Racers.

3. Cinncinatti - Riverfront Collesium - Game I was there for had a good crowd, cheerleaders in the stands, typical bowl hockey rink. Right on the river near the ballpark in downtown. Between periods there were large outdoor balcony you could go out and look over the river and the city. Stingers had great marketing, always something going on when action on the ice stopped (mascot, tee shirt Toss, cheer leaders etc)

4 Cleveland - Richfield Collesium Loved this rink, probably cause of the night i went. It was between Cleveland and Akron, in the middle of nowhere, parking was adjacent to large pine trees, and there was a gentle snow coming down.
Rink was large 2 level bowl with one concourse, plenty of Crusaders fans the night i went, but ultimately the rinks remote location caused attendance issues.

Ha Ha

Pierre doing color on the water polo game, I can pick out that voice anywhere.

Wonder if there's a box he's swimming in next to the pool.
