It's already stupid enough to have two Sox teams in the MLB.

Two 'Hawks in the NHL? To me that's egregious.

It makes sense for the USHL. Since they bus to and from, KC is a location in the Midwest.

Roy wanted to win now, he didnt want to be patient with the core. Wanted the team to be aggressive at UFA, make changse to the core, etc. McFarland (Sakics right hand man) is getting mroe and more power in the org. They shifted drafting away from huge hulking players this year, and didnt draft a guy from the Q either. That was Roys mandate. He wanted Radulov, Avs decided to spread out money in smaller signings, better depth guys, hired an anaylitcs department.

Roy was a loved coach by the players, but he killed the fans. Sad to see him as go as as a figure in Avs hockey, but not sad to see him go as a HC or mgmt of my team as a fan

The AHL used to have the Norfolk Admirals (former Hawks affiliate) and the Milwaukee Admirals (Predators). I believe the Ducks or another team retained Norfolk for a few years as their affiliate but have since moved to a new city and team name.

It's a nice a geographical fit. IMO the USHL is very thoughtful as far as expansion and don't expand just to do so. Very picky so if they say it's a go with MO I'm on board. USHL map: http://www.ushl.com/page/show/1209109-teams

And with MO youth hockey getting better and better with more recognition the USHL will help expand the sport, which is always a good thing. I do know, as you mentioned, the Mavs drew well in the CHL and now in the ECHL so the fans have done their part.

Having a 17-18 yr old Kane, Matthews, Eichel and these guys http://www.ushl.com/page/show/1209183-nhl-alumni come through your town it's a good thing.

Any kind of analytic influence and Roy will be exposed. A great day for Avs fans and the sport itself.

Doesn't Roy still own a QMJHL franchise?

Nope, he sold the Remparts. I honesty think he is going to lay low until Quebec comes back into the league or the Canadiens have a job offer for him

Yeah, I love you, Coda, but, I don't think Roy was THAT loved or that he DESERVED more control.
Radulov wouldn't have been a better alternative to a happy MacKinnon and Matt Duchene.
and do you really think Duchene wants to be on the wing?

I do think he was, Erik Johnson was on the radio today discussing it, he said Roy phoned the vast majority of players to let them know, he said that probably 90% of the lockerroom loved playing for him since they knew he had their back and was always there to motivate them to be better.

Thats the side that Av Fans loved about Roy, on the surface he seemed like the ultimate team guy, but his approach to the game was out dated, wasting prime years of talented players. I dont think he deserved any more control for those vary reasons of wasting talent, and thats why he had to go, he would have killed me this season doing the same things over again

Personally I do think Duchene should be a winger, with his speed coming off the wing on his off hand, his goal scoring spiked when he moved to that position. So its exciting to see Avs this season with Roy gone to stop messing around with his fwd ranks, and barries leash will be finally off for him to free wheel. Should be a fun fast team again

I have been thinking about getting Devils season tickets for this upcoming season through my company to take customers when they come to visit from out of town. My clientele are international folks that most are not hockey fans - big cricket and football (soccer) fans, etc. How do you rate the experience at the Rock? A friend of mine has the club seats in the "ice" bar area and that is pretty cool but I am biased as a Devils fan. The all you can eat food and such is nice but wondered what you thought as a non Devils fan.

Also - after thinking about it, I really like the car service idea, I take a car service when I fly out of JFK (I live in the shore) the long term parking cost almost make it a wash and its nice to be able to get tanked on a long flight and not have to drive home.

Went to school at Illinois State and played on the club team. Many times the Bloominton Prairie Thunder/Blaze/Thunder players came to practice with us. I internded for the team as a senior and got to see firsthand the insanity of SPHL hockey. The fued between the Thunder and the Peoria Rivermen was insane. A Riverman player had his head split open on the ice after a fight game two of the season, our player took a Slapshot into the Rivermen bench trying to hit the coach (was later acquired by the Rivermen), there were a few line brawls, and we both owned by the same ownership group. Craziness.

Some fun inexpensive hockey to watch, and there's a partnership with the Blackhawks. Usually have several Blackhawk nights during the season as well.
