i dont think hes going anywhere. too many questions. 4.6m is not nothing. im not retaining salary on him just to get him out. plus with kane strolling down jackass lane all too frequently, we could use a potential top 6 winger on short notice. are we retaining salaries on any contracts for next season, i know we can only retain on 3?

We are not. Sabres have 3 former players they are still paying through buyouts (Ehrhoff, Leino, Hodgson) but none through trades. Hodgson is the only one that counts on the cap btw. 550k this year.

The hope is you replace them with your superior drafting talent. Bailey, Nylander, Fasching and hopefully going to replace the Kane, Moulson, and Gionta type players that will leave in the next 2 years. Honestly I'd almost do the switch now if we could. Giving them that time to marinate in the AHL hopefully works out well but it's never a guarantee with prospects.

Gonna be fun to watch . And hope the changeover goes smoothly .

Ennis scores so many highlight-reel goals. I expect big things out of him, but even at 50 points, his salary is very reasonable. His attitude has always seemed good, and even in the dark tank years, he rarely took a night off. Also, his speed is something we desperately need and he's tougher than most give him credit for. When somebody takes a run at one of his linemates, Ennis always runs that person back.

Ennis is a perfect complimentary player, I believe.

14-23-37 last year if we're talking about the same guy. Not sure I'd give anything real up for him. I would expect Ennis to at least put up those numbers. He's young, though, so there's that.

I still say go for Pirri. 11-13-24 in 52 and 24 in 49 the year before. Cheap contract, 2 year deal, if it works then great, if not he's on the 3rd line and putting up 20-30 points. I could live with that.

- Zschalberg

Not sure you'd have to. Contract impasse with the yotes, young and fast. I think he'd be a good fit here.

not sure why the ennis hate...hit the 20-goal mark three times and was on pace for another one until he went down with an injury...plus he has eight points in 13 playoff games including an overtime game-winner at philadelphia

Bruins have an open spot next to Bergeron and Marchand.

B's just signed his best buddy Gryz.

B's are infusing lots of young talent around Vesey age

Boston is his home

Sorry guys.....

no offense, but why would he choose a team most agree is on the decline?

That movie Posse provided hours of unintentional comedy to me and my college friends. Stevie Baldwin, Mario van Peeps, crosseyed guy, they all brought their A-games.

Are you guys still seriously holding on to the Vesey dream?? It's over. Was over before it even began. Stop torturing yourselves

I'm not sure what Vesey needs to do to make this clear. He's basically screaming "I'm not signing in Buffalo!!" straight into your ears, but somehow you aren't hearing him...

Boston vs Toronto. Those are the two teams with a shot. It's always been those two teams. You could see a team like the Rangers sneaking into the game, but that's about it

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
- homiedclown

Fun fact.

My Luftwaffe fighter wing was actually supposed to be part of the Pearl Harbor attack but the night before I decided to take out some of the boys to blow off some steam and relieve a little tension. We found a quiet place on Kwajalein, some little atoll under the control of the Japs, and got into the schnapps a little harder than I think any of us expected. Then we ran into a few MaiLan's who gave my guys a long line of green lights, and before we knew it, all of us were overextended and overexerted and passed out on the beach next to the airfield. By the time we all woke up, it was too late to get to Hawaii on time to participate in the mission.

I was court martialed and busted three ranks - they probably would have kicked me out altogether if they weren't hard pressed for men of any kind. One of the more embarrassing episodes of my entire life.

That was a hell of a beach party, though.

As every team that Vesey is considering, for the 1st yr they all have 1 thing in common. They can all offer him the 1 year max ELC. It's year 2 and beyond. Who will have the cap space to pay him in years 2 through 5?
