Yeah, the young guys can't be a 7. They either need to be a nightly guy, or an injury call up. But you can't have them playing once every 6 games.

I would rather have guys like Nelson and Guhle spend the entire year in Rochester and develop. get a taste of professional hockey and they'll be ready next year.

I think 17/18 we will see Nylander, Bailey, Fasching and Guhle as regulars.

O/t but did you end up golfing Ironwood? Good shape?

Have you ever played in the Southtowns? 18 Mile Creek? South Shore?

I did play Ironwood. It was in great shape, very surprised. The greens were great and actual rough around the course, especially around the greens. A few dried out brown spots from the summer heat but all in all very nice.

I haven't played much in the southtowns aside from brierwood. How is 18 mile creek and south shore? Worth the trip?

Never been there. Heard it's super nice though, if it's the one I'm thinking of.

Get rid of Gionta for Bailey, Kane for Nylander, Fasching for D-Lo perhaps and Guhle for Franson...makes sense. I'm just saying signing Seids now means Guhle and Nelson come into camp knowing their fate. I want them to fight like McCabe did. I agree with both, no reason to have either as 7th D. I'd sign Carlo before that, but Franson just isn't that good and if I thought I could get the same out of them I'd make Franson the 7th D. Seids closes that particular door, that's all.

Any names?

Off the top of my head Juuso Ikonen was pretty good (although kind of small) and Malmo has some rookie defencemen that look really good too but i don't know if hes someones draft property. Probably other names out there as well certainly worth taking a look at.

Maybe you are thinking of Johan Ivarsson. He's 21 and plays for Malmo. Doesn't look like he's any NHL property. Ikonen is 5'6"!!

That might be cheaper than Grover. I was so pissed when they double their prices that one year when the Erie County parks department shut down/bullsh!t thing like 10 years ago. It used to be $20 with a cart if you split the cart with another person. And then it was like $35. It was my home course for a few years. Lived about 3 minutes from there. 5 if I caught the light wrong at Main and Bailey.

These (frank)ing people won't stop. I've gotten 8 calls in the past 2 days from the "warranty department, can you hear me ok?" and "congratulations! You've won a cruise!" I block the number and 5 minutes later a very similar one calls back. Has done this 4 times right around 1 o'clock the past 2 days. They're 716 numbers too, and I usually answer 716 numbers even if I don't recognize them. They're coming out of Lewiston. wieners.

Just teasing.

BTW - I had beers the other day with the CFO of the owner of the Kelowna Rockets. He speaks very highly of Dan Lambert - the former Rockets coach who is now headed to Rochester as head coach. My friend got to know him well and watched a lot of Rocket games. He says Lambert is really good with developing young talent so hopefully this bodes well for Rochester this upcoming season.

If you heard anything about South Shore it was from years ago. I guess the owner passed and the family didn't want to actually run it. It's a total disaster right now. Sadly I live like 3 minutes from there and it would be my home course but it's in such awful shape. Worse than "give them a pass because of the drought" awful. Seriously you've been warned. Side note, anyone want to invest in a golf course with me?

18 Mile Creek was in pretty solid shape earlier this summer and I think it's a pretty decent public course but it's hard to get a time there.

Briarwood is private or semi private but I manage to play there 1 or 2 rounds a year and it's always in fantastic shape but it's not a super memorable course aside from a hole or two.

Haven't played Wanakah (private) but hear that is top notch.

Only other one is Harvest Hill and I'm going to try and play there for the first time on my bday in a few weeks.

I knew you were friend, all good.

And that's great to hear about Lambert. He did well out there and I think Rochester is going to be really young. If guys like Nylander, Guhle, Fasching and Nelson develop under his tutelage, they'll be ready when they make the jump. A great hire by Bylsma and Murray.

Guhle isn't eligible for the AHL next year. Also I'm not sure where Nylander will play next year. He can play in the NHL, AHL, SHL, or even OHL if AIK loans him again.
