I don't necessarily want him on the 4th line either, but I think that nhl coaching and practises and seeing nhl players full time may be more beneficial to his development than another year of junior.

Obviously we do, but assuming it were without Canadian knowledge, it'd be much worse if we did it and then said nothing to cover up the fact that we were in deed spying on its citizens. Also, with all that's going on, who knows what sort of arrangement the US and Canada have with keeping tabs on each others citizens. For all we know Canada could've asked for some assistance or something. Who knows, probably doubtful they would/at least admit they would, but wouldn't shock me considering how intertwined our mutual security is.
