I've never seen Breaking Bad, and I probably never will. That show has been so massively hyped that I doubt it could meet my expectations unless each successive episode is the best thing in the history of TV.

It was good solid TV with really good performances. Like in Highlander the characters develop and evolve over the course of the show.

I'm sure that, had I watched it earlier, I could have gotten into it. But like I said, now, I doubt it could live up to the hype enough to make me keep coming back.

Another one that ended too soon.

Like I said, over the last ten years we are in a golden age of television.

I didn't watch it when it was out for multiple reasons...the first was that I wanted my wife to watch it with me so I had to wait for her ass (currently happening again on The Night Of). the second was that it starts out kinda boring, which is funny because in my attempt to start the show several times i saw the first 4 or 5 episodes 3 times.

The beginning is slow...Sklyer sucks the life out of everyone, it is worth watching for sure.

I am in a similar situation with the wire and the sopranos. I hope they meet expectations, but I am going to watch at some point.

No idea about Netflix. Pretty sure you can get it on HBO GO. It was one of the few dramatic series that has an ending that doesnt leave you feeling disappointed,

first ep of sopranos will hook you.

agreed first few eps of breaking bad were very slow, but the series is a masterpiece as is the sopranos.

I'm sure you're right...I get hooked on shows very easily...so a lot of times I don't let myself watch something unless I know I can devote the time to do it. Now with the behbeh I think I will have some time to sit and watch

Do you have Amazon Prime? The Wire is definitely there.

You can get a lot of the old, much better HBO shows there.

Including the Sopranos, Deadwood, etc.

Love both Breaking Bad and Deadwood.

Love the way Deadwood evolved. Crazy how a guy like Al Swearengen can go from a malignant bastard to that evil guy you were kind of rooting for by the end of the series.
