No one will ever be able to master the "score from a foot beyond the goal line" the way Mario did.

Edit: 3:30 - how the hell are you supposed to stop that?

I think I saw something on the NHL network scrolling by that players without contracts will be insured for the World Cup. Not sure how they'd determine the coverage, though.
- jmatchett383

I don't know if the insurance coverage will be enough for someone like Gadreau or Kucherov who should be getting Tarasenko-like deals.

I think this is all of the World Cup players who are still RFAs:

Monahan, Gaudreau, Trouba, Kucherov, Rieder, Orlov, Ristolainen

That 96 World Cup is still the greatest hockey I ever saw.
- MBFlyerfan

Seconded. It was amazing.

This makes me want to unearth all of the ticket stubs, programs, etc I saved from those games.

I'm not sure how the coverage would work, it's just what I read (or think I did).

On another note, I'd really love for the Flyers to make a play for Trouba. From the outside, it seems like he really just doesn't want to play in Winnipeg unless they massively overpay him, and he may take considerably less if he was moved to a better location. If the Flyers were given access to talk to him and could comes to term on, say, 5 years @ $5.5M, what would you be willing to give that Winnipeg might listen to.

I'm at the south Jersey shore, but my guess is that Philly is hot and humid. Pretty much holds true for all of August.

They'd want Provorov, so Provorov + MacDonald would work cap-wise.

But I'd rather just keep Provorov.

Starting tomorrow it's a five day heat wave with temps in the 90's, humid with possible showers every day.

Cause I'm bored, and there really isn't much hockey stuff to talk about. What are everyone's top 3 favorite all time movies?

Mine are:

1. Casablanca
Every scene is a gem and every line is perfect. Also features an absolutely amazing cast.

2. Tie- The Godfather parts 1 & 2
Really hard to choose between the 2, they are basically one long film, IMO. So many great scenes and lines from these films!

3. Rocky
None of the sequels even came close to the original. Stallone wrote a brilliant script and played the character to perfection. The ultimate underdog story.

Your turn!

1. The Empire Strikes Back (this is what happens when George Lucas' idea is written and directed by someone who knows what they are doing)

2. Raider Of The Lost Ark (see above explanation)

3. The Godfather 1 and 2 (see BiggE explanation)

Nice. Empire and Raiders would both be in my top 10, as would Jaws.
