That 96 World Cup is still the greatest hockey I ever saw. - MBFlyerfan
Agreed, though the 3 finals games vs the Soviets in 87 come pretty damned close. Watching Gretzky and Lemieux work together on the ice was breathtaking

I only saw highlights of those games. But yes, those rushes with Lemieux and Gretzky were otherworldy.
I think what also helps Boucher is his loyalty to the Flyers by returning, I wanna say 3 times? Maybe 4 because I think he signed with Phantoms before moving on to San Jose. I could be way off.

Agreed. I was there for all 3 games in Philly.
Game 1 - USA vs. Canada: Jon LeClair became the first Flyer to score in the new building. Otto and Lindros took the first faceoff. There was a brawl 20 second into the game (C. Lemieux vs. Tkachuk and Primeau vs. Guerin). The USA vs. Canada chants were great. Also, before the game, the USA left a player (Shawn McEachern, I think) out to stop the puck when Lemieux fired it down the ice. Also, Derian Hatcher knocked out a ref with an errant punch.
Game 2 - Canada vs. Sweden - The best hockey game I've ever seen. This went to within less than a minute of going to Triple OT, and neither team deserved to lose. The pace was quick, the rosters were packed with superstars, and I will most likely never see another game as good as this one.
Game 3 - USA vs. Canada - LeClair scored with 6 seconds left to send it to OT, but Yzerman, who did not play much in the game for some reason, scored on a flukey goal misplayed by Richter.
Of course, the USA would win the World Cup in Game 3 with a huge comeback in the last 5 minutes, going from a goal down to up 3 goals. Of all of the tournaments I've seen since, none have come close.
First two are no-brainers
Leighton because 2010 was ridiculous - Scoob
Leighton/Boucher.
Obviously after the fact but after Game 1 of the final, I think you could give Leighton a short leash, not because Leighton was bad but because Boucher helped probably as much as Leighton to reach that point to get to the final. Throw something different at the Hawks through the series.

Right, thanks.
I was torn between them and Roman C. I loved that guy and he got so screwed over by the rest of the team.
Bryz not getting any flyer goalie love - MrPerfect316
I can relate to Bryz. The guy starts talking about what he enjoys reading and what he saw on the discovery channel in the safety of his own locker room and suddenly he's not focusing on Hockey enough.
I wonder if guys like Trouba and Gadreau will decide to skip the WC if they don't have their new contracts in place yet. - Feanor
I think I saw something on the NHL network scrolling by that players without contracts will be insured for the World Cup. Not sure how they'd determine the coverage, though.
