Good luck....as a resident of a tourist trap town built around a beach, I can speak for here and say that finding anything else worthy of doing is near impossible. If you don't enjoy the beach and/or golf here, you're pretty much screwed.

For tourists around here it may be fine, there are some places to go to kill a few hours at a time, but as a "local"....this place is boring - so I'm guessing Hilton Head is similar.

I'd recommend maybe looking into a day-trip to Savannah (I've never been there, but picture it like Charleston, SC which I love for it being so old)

Java Burrito and the Jazz Corner were excellent. Check out Pomodori too. Great Italian joint.

Never been there, and don't really know since I don't drink (not out of some protest against drinking, just never really have much opportunity).

I do like Calabash, which is real close to there. Nothing special, I just like the neighborhood near there (right in the same vicinity). We go there once in a while because my MIL stays in some relatives house there.
