ME, personally!
Would like to see a 4th line C with a lot more experience. Granlund to me isn't that gritty, dirty, 4th line center that winning teams have.

- manvanfan

I agree ideally the 4C has more experience on a contending team, but thats hard to accomplish for a "retooling" team like Vancouver who are trying to give young guys experience. The 4C role is limited and sheltered which is more ideal for easing guys into the lineup.

I also think that the role is evolving, of the past champions they dont have the typical 4C grinder. From memory (so I could be wrong here) Cullen/Fehr were the Pens 4C this year, one of Vermette/Kruger/Desjardins last cup, Kruger/Bolland the cup before. I could see Granlund developing into that type of 4C

I'm having a tough time finding specific info on this topics (lots of qualifying and offer sheet info tho) - so players like Gaudreau and Monahan declined their qualifying offer, they remain RFAs - they don't have the right to arbitration - so therefore they could potentially start the season without a contract?
- Brooks_Light

Yup, look at Ryan O'reilly's contract dispute with Colorado, some articles might have more info on those situations, but essentially they cant play without a contract but their rights are owned by the team, so Gaudreau/Monahan would sit out until a contract was done

EDIT: and I forgot, but O'Reilly's was resolved because he signed an offersheet and Colorado matched it

If McDavid says he is the real MVP, you don't trade him.

I figured you'd be able to determine that for yourself after seeing al my emojis.

well I determined that you're an sarcastic pr!ck, who for some reason, thinks everyone should know the ins/outs of RFA contracts and who should know the answer to not-so-straight forward questions about the topic....

yeah developing over the years just not this year. If there was a vet invited on pto, I doubt granlund makes the team.

Wow! I thought all on the Canuck thread were friends. This is comical.

On another note Boesner looks like a steal!

I finally found this - "Restricted free agents must sign NHL contracts by December 1, or they are not eligible to play in the NHL for the rest of the season."

Thanks for the kind words.
It's common sense. We all know there are holdouts, so unless someone goes from RFA to UFA (which is ridiculous), then there is no deadline. Maybe if you thought it out instead of asking a stupid question, you'd come to the conclusion that there is no deadline.

Well there you go, I thought the cut off was later and it only pertained to playoffs (like trades made after the TDL, and college FA's), but I believe you did your homework and wont doubt you

His AHL progressive #s were better than Shinkaruk…I think the kid needs a shot for a full season at 4LC to see what he can do.

This sentence does not make any sense?

Do you want to change your question?

Perhaps to 'Oh, so your question has now changed.'

sign either Pirri or Hudler.
- manvanfan

I know Pirri is younger but I pick Hudler over him. Pirri has redflags for me, like Bickell's big playoff type redflags, I just feel like he will underperform his next contract. No substance to back it up, just got a feeling thats why he still doesnt have a contract

Hudler doesn't have a contract either
I think Hudler has proven more in his career. Pirri is a point guy. Van could probably use someone a little selfish. Hudler will help the other players. One or the other.

It didn't change - I just didn't know the answer? that's why I asked a question. So there's no date before the season starts but it is by December 1st. See now we both know and we're both equally stupid for not having known such common sense.

Now are you gonna respond back with a list of emojis like a 13 year old girl?
