He's phenomenal...23, already a #2 defenseman and IMO will be a #1 in a few years. Takes a lot to get that kind of player.

Agreed.

At 6’3”, would be a great partner for Rielly imo.

So tanner suggest the leafs offer the following to the ducks for Lindholm

"The Leafs offered Connor Brown, Brandon Leipsic, their 2017 first round pick and JVR? Do the Ducks do that??"

- Fakepartofme

the 1st makes it a No for the Leafs imo... but thats close to what it would take.

I didn’t realize the ducks signed mason Raymond.

They also acquired bernier and signed Carlyle.

Seems like nonis might be infecting that organization.

Maybe the ducks are ripe to be swindled.

Ducks have plenty of great players on their team but they seem to have trouble taking that "step" to become contenders again.

Plenty of short term moves hoping things work out... lots of them being questionnable.

Feels like where the Sharks have been in the last 10 years.

Is there anyone coming up this year that

1) The Leafs are likely able to draft
2) is likely to be better than Lindholm

Sure it hurts to give up the first, but you are talking about a 22 year is among the best young dmen in the league.

JVR will not be a Leaf when the team is ready to contend.

You think the Leafs will trade JVR in the next two months??

I can’t see the leafs giving up the 1st until they know where it lands.

If dumbass nonis overvalues some of his ex-players, maybe there is a trade to be made. Guys like brown, leivo, goat, Holland, bozak etc.

Idk, maybe:

Jvr, goat, and leivo for lindholm

Again, the Rielly comparisons are apt, at least in terms of value.

As much as I know a lot of people here love JVR... would you trade Rielly for that package?

That is where you have to start with this... look at a package that might land Rielly.

Of course, Anaheim is in a little different position than the Leafs but the offers would have to be the same ballpark as Rielly.

You would be competing with 28 other teams looking for a potential 1st line Dman. The Taylor Hall trade should have taught us all something about that market.

That was brutal. Apparently she fractured a bunch of vertabrae and did some other damage. Concussion I would assume.

Yeah I think it just shows prices are to high. Lindholm won't put leafs over the top to contend right now. Would rather wait and see what the leafs can develop then overpay out the ass

I hear ya.

I guess my point is nonis is an idiot who generally makes moves to make his teams worse. It appears like he has some influence in Anaheim

I think goat is basically worthless. Nonis may still view him as a 1st round pick. There is where the opportunity might be imo.

It would have to have some lottery protection. I can't see it otherwise.

I know, and I don't think the Leafs would get away with lottery protecting it

I wonder what other teams would put together if Lindholm were ever really on the market (he won't be).

Phoenix? Buffalo? Montreal? Tampa?

Ducks won't go for that.

It is all silliness anyway, no way the Ducks are trading him.

True.

Prices for dmen may come down closer to the expansion draft. Leafs probably don't make a move for a while either.

Tampa likely wouldn't have the cap room even with trades.
