i would be ecstatic to see kerby make the team... i do think he starts with the marlies where he can get real ice time and learn the systems before he sees the ice with the leafs... he will be one of the guys who take over for michalek, greening, etc... big bodied power forward
- Dozzer

We have so much OTG (other teams' garbage) - 4-5 forwards.

It's going to be hard for young guys to play for the big club.

We are franked if Cowen is healthy and the league says no to the buyout.

Think Kane and ROR will have a good stretch at AA?
- Feeling Glucky?

You mean at the ACC? Sure, they'll both have big years.

We're going to be second last and we're going to like it.

Edmonton of course coming in last...as is tradition.

I love battling S.P.A.T.S.O. (thanks, Dozzie) as much as the next guy, but I don't get why people get upset.

Whats the chances Toronto trades off JVR to say Anahiem for one of their young defenceman way I see it if our young forwards pan out and Anderson plays as well as he did in anahiem we may only be 1 top pairing defenceman from being a legit playoff contender Not saying this year give everyone another year to play and gain some experience with our 3 young studs and rychel , martin and komarov to ride shotgun with these guys as well as the other young players that are up and coming I think we look pretty good

yeah... this year i am hoping the leafs give nylander matthews and marner (our future core forward group) ice time so when they clear out all the crap by the end of this year they will have that year under their belt and the team wont be full of rookies with no NHL experience

The leafs are probably a year behind the sabres and the jets are probably ahead of that. But the thing is, cities like buffalo and Winnipeg will have trouble keeping their players and attracting new ones because they are such a dump.
- prock

Buffalo was just voted the most livable city for young families in the entire country. It's improved drastically since Pegula's took over. You should try going to a hockey town sometime Country boy

It's timing.

Not healthy in July?

No buyout.

Healthy in September?

Big cap hit.

A Buffalo vs Toronto comparison is fair as they've both been bottom feeders for a number of years, but, in order for the Leafs to move up the standings, in the East or in the Atlantic, they're going to have to accomplish two things.

#1...they're going to have to cut down on goals against, only Columbus allowed more goals in the East, 252 vs 246. Adding youth to an already young lineup won't help this as young players struggle defensively, as a general statement.

#2...they're going to have to score more if they hope to even have a sniff at catching Montreal or Ottawa, they're both more offensively talented. Scoring more and improving only slightly defensively would put the Leafs on par with the Sens.

Expect a bottom five league finish.

Just my 2 cents....

Like any metropolitan area with a population over a million, it has nice neighbourhoods and poop neighbourhoods.

But in all honesty, the people of Buffalo are great. Every time I go to a Bills or Sabres game, I am treated very well.

honest question... what if the grievance takes longer to settle than when the second buyout window is?

would that mean they cant buy him out anyways?

We got rid of Bernier.

That will eliminate 60 goals from soft first shots this year.

Playoffs, here we come!

The Leafs have a good injection of offensive talent incoming, but it's all rookies. Hopefully Andersen can stop a beach ball bouncing toward the net from centre in super slo mo, that will shave about fifty goals off in comparison to Bernier. We'll see.

Isn't the 2ND buyout window really small?

I think itmay be closed now.
