For putting up points, possibly yes.

But to get a stud vet who still dominates...will cost.
For now, I dont mind Laich on the 3rd or 4th line.

We're talking about having players int he lineup who can help the rookies adapt to the NHL lifestyle/game..

Absolutley those guys will help.. Imagine you've been on a job for 6 years and they hired some young worker.. "sorry guys, ive only been here 6 years i dont know anything yet".

You like to turn simple observations and opinions into full blown arguments. If you think Bozak, JVR, Kadri, Hunwick, Polak have nothing to offer in terms of experience and advice you are entitled to your opinion but i think you are wrong.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Almost any NHL'er that has been in the league for more than 2 years other than the Kanes could offer that. Of course they offer experience.
At the time you specifically talking about leadership.

I understand what you mean, of course they can teach the younger guys with the experience that they had.

But so can Laich, hell maybe even more so because he's been around even longer and has seen more. And theres a difference between having experience and being a leader in a team... I've known and worked with people who have been at the same place for a decade and can barely manage their own skin!

And maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't consider Kadri "Mr. Leadership" yet....

Good. Maybe it would grow hair on his chest! Since he won't have any on his head soon if his dad is anything to go by

Taking a leadership role happens naturally.. You want to look out for your flock.. Im not saying any are captain material, but they are the guys the rookies will look to for guidance. I honestly dont think Michalek, or Greening provide very much in terms of leadership.. Martin maybe a little bit because hes been in the playoffs and is tough.

Nice read, big dog.

Last day at my current job. Here till noon, zero (frank)s to give, and start the new gig Monday

Also have a call at 11 with someone from EC about maybe heading there. Would be (frank)in wild to be tearing it up at the same joint

Buddy's bachelor party cottage weekend. Should be a (frank)in rip roar

I wasn dumping on him. I often talk about how he contributes (going back half a year now). I included him in the group of vets to paint a picture showing how the vets we have arent anything special.. No one is really weak in the knees when they walk into the room. Laich being our best guy.

Kadri leads by example on the ice.. He doesnt back down, and does the most to fire his team up. That's leadership.. He's not captain material. You're right tho, some are natural leaders, some arent.

The team seems to think Kadri and Rielly are good enough players and core pieces to lock them up for 6 years.

I like Kadri. He's got his issues, sure, but he's a feisty little (frank)er

When he backchecked 150 feet as fast as he could just to level Marchand in the slot, that was probably my favorite moment of last season.

Edit: Maybe not 150 feet

He really doesnt get enough credit..

You can't hang onto things hes done 3 years ago, and he didnt really do anything that stupid anyways. He battles for his team, probably more so than any other player. He was the biggest target last year.. Big stars like Benn and Perry get frustrated by him and he holds his own. He almost has Tuckers heart... And that huge for a team that has nothing.
