I think he'd be too expensive though.

Good player, seems the Canucks could use him.

Bills LT Cordy Glenn (ankle) was spotted wearing a walking boot Monday.
Glenn injured his left ankle during a scrimmage Saturday. The boot suggests he is dealing with an injury which could keep him out a couple weeks. Cyrus Kouandjio worked with the first-team with Glenn sidelined.

Get Hudler instead
- sbroads24

I wouldn't be opposed to this. Pirri obvious has some future upside that Hudler doesn't have but Hudler def brings some presence that wouldn't hurt our young team. I think either would be a nice addition if we trade a fwd for Fowler.

ESPN Bills reporter Mike Rodak reports trainers have routinely treated Charles Clay for a lower-back issue during camp.
Clay has not missed much time, but it is concerning after he sat out the final three games of last year dealing with a strained back. The Bills want to use their high-priced tight end more often this season, but that will be tricky if his back continues to act up. Clay does not need to be drafted in standard fantasy formats.

We have to watch the spending and as of now, we don't need Hudler or Pirri. If we get Vesey and keep Ennis we have a jam at forward. We have to curb the spending as well before we get into a bind.

moulson
girgens
franson
gorges
ennis
kane
lehner
gmtm

in a few months you can add 4 or 5 more names to the list

honestly if they can move franson, I am ok with gorges on a smaller role
if girgens gets his head out of his a$$, I am ok with him as well
if lehner can stay healthy and play at a higher level than last year I am ok with him
if kane can score and go home after the games, I am fine with him
if moulson can revert back to 50 point production, he is fine
if ennis can avoid toilet injuries and revert back to playing as if there are 4 more skaters on his team, he can stay
if gmtm gets off his a$$ he gets a longer leash

franson has to go

I hear what you're saying. My thinking was if we get rid of Girgensons for Fowler and sign Hudler/Pirri for a short term deal, I wouldn't think it puts us in a terrible spot. Also my comment was assuming we're not getting Vesey since most people seem to think its not happening. I would love to see Ennis comeback and play like he did pre-tank years but until that happens, I don't think Hudler/Pirri is a huge risk as long as we aren't talking big $ + big term. I'm not sure how much Hudler would want to be here, I would think he'd want to sign on a legit contender which I don't think we can really offer him. But who knows.

Fowler-Risto

Kulikov/McCabe-Bogosian

Kulikov/McCabe-Gorges ?

So either you take ice time away from one of your most promising young d-men, or you have the most expensive bottom pair in the nhl. Not to mention the whole protection from expansion draft thing.

I wouldnt be surprised to see ennis around the 50 points mark... To agree with Sbroads With ROR as a shutdown guy.. our 3rd line needs to be producing offensively vesey or not hulder for 2 years could help lock down that middle 6 winger

on the goalie situation

I honestly think Ullmark starts out in Rochester

if/when Lehner goes down, Ullmark becomes the Sabres #1 goalie and the scrub remains in a back up role

- homiedclown

That sounds reasonable, kind of
My problem with that is we don't really know what Ullmark is yet
You gotta think Murray wants to make the playoffs this year
So it's baffling to me that his "plan b" if Lehner struggles or gets hurt rests on the shoulders of 2 goalies with very little track record of success in the NHL
And Nilsson might be the worst backup in the league
Enroth is still out there & MUCH better IMO
Or why not just bring back Johnson?
Seemed like a no brainer

Don'assume we're not getting Vesey. Also - a lot of not-so-great contracts are coming off the books in the next couple of years: Gorges, Franson, Kane, Gionta, Moulsen, Ennis, there's probably more

Yeah, personally I still think he is signing here but that doesn't seem to be the sentiment here. When he makes his decision, the trigger is pulled on Girgensons moving for a dman and that is most likely the end of our offseason imo.

If Vesey signs here, Girgensons is probably gone, if not him then Ennis. Ennis can play center so maybe Ennis slides into the center spot.

Kane ROR Okposo
Vesey Eichel Reinhart
Foligno Ennis Bailey
Moulson Larsson Gionta

I could live with that

I think Vesey will sign here, then Murray should sign Risto long term, then maybe ask again on price for Drouin. TB will be in cap trouble next offseason when he wants to get paid.

As for a D man, I just dont know the value for trading for one. I mean, Risto, Kulikov, McCabe, Bogosian, then you have Borgen, Guhle coming in next year or two. I dont know how much we can / should do for that scenario. If we think we are not contending for Stanley Cup this year, I would leave it alone (the dman position).

If you give me:
Drouin O"Reilly Okoposo
Vesey Eichel Reinhart
Nylander Larsson Ennis
Moulson Cal O'Reilly Deslauries

Trading Foligno, Grirgensons, Kane, Franson (to get Drouin plus whatever else, Kane most likely to Vancouver for 1st rounder plus something)

I would take that roster this season, would be tons of fun to watch play.

Kane doesn't get Vancouver's first...

Not to mention that is probably going to be a top 5 pick.

Even a top 5 pick plus isn't going to get you Drouin, not to mention that Tampa can't take back salary.

Rieder and boucher are two RFAs they could get on the cheap.
