Not sure where all the hatred for U2 comes from? Same 4 bandmates for 38 years, an inspiration for us Irish Americans and a lead singer who's saved millons of lives in Africa. Guess the younger generation wouldn't get them, older generation a tad jealous.

anyway, my underrated band is our lady peace. Super popular in Canada and Buffalo but never caught hold in the rest of America. Literally can still see them in bars in nyc and ct

They have a few good songs, no doubt, over that period of time you're bound to stumble on a few hits, just ask Aerosmith.

What does charity have to do with them being a good band?

I just think they're massively overrated. Longevity doesn't mean they're good. It just means 4 dudes don't hate each other so much that they can't stand being near each other. And it's not like this is the original lineup either.

Popularity does not equal talent. Justin Bieber is insanely popular.

The poop they(U2) pulled with iTunes did not help them in the slightest. No, not everyone wants your shiddy new album without a choice whether to download it or not.

It's so tough with comedies. They're all good for their own reasons. I can't decide.

90's was obviously Seinfeld

but the 00's had Scrubs, Family Guy, Arrested Development, Curb, Sunny, 30 Rock, The Office, Modern Family, Archer, Ali G, Bored to Death, Sports Night was really good, but that may have been late 90's. I don't know that I'd really call Entourage a comedy, but that too. I know a bunch of those straddled the 00's and 10's.

And for the shows that started in the 10's Veep, Silicon Valley, I really can't think of many that have started this decade. Somebody help me.

And a really underrated show that has already had it's run is Longmire. It's not a comedy, but it was on AMC or A&E, on I always conflate the shows on the 2 networks. Either way, I believe it's on Netflix now. I know they picked it up for its last season so they could end it properly. It's a severely underrated show that I bet only a couple on here have even heard of.

The Goldbergs is awesome, we watch Big Bang Theory too but it's been beaten out by Goldbergs as our favorite.

Cougar Town was always funny too.

I tried watching Always Sunny and the first "season" was OK (it was short), but that one dude does NOTHING but yell....I can't take it.

Yeah, the first season was a bit weird. It got weirder, but somehow better when DeVito came aboard. There were a couple seasons where they got a bit too preachy about issues of the day for my liking, but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. I watch the show to laugh, not think about all the bullpoop going on in the world. You should give it another shot.

And which one are you talking about? They all yell, all the time.

Haven't seen The Goldberg's. It looks pretty funny. Big Bang theory went the way of Two and a Half Men. It got too big for its own good. Cougar Town had some good episodes.

You can deal with Big Bang Theory's laugh track but not Charlie Day?

I don't know if they've been mentioned yet but my pick for underrated band has to be The Boxer Rebellion.

They consistently put out amazing songs and albums and yet it feels like not many people know about them.

Hope I'm wrong about that.

Also have to give some credit to Mute Math as well. Their drummer is a monster.

Rush
Guster
Barenaked Ladies
Moxy Fruvous

Basically all the bands I've seen lots of times (20+ for BNL)

A Guster mention?! Love it!

My two would be Pearl Jam and Radiohead.

Wait, you think Pearl Jam and Radiohead are underrated?

I like Pearl Jam. Not a fan of Radiohead, but those are 2 of the biggest bands on Earth.

No, not underrated. Those are my two favorites from the 90's.

The Boxer Rebellion is my vote for underrated.

I actually forgot about that show. It was pretty good. Two and a Half Men started funny but gradually got worse and worse. Should've ended after season 5 or 6.

I honestly think becker and night court are as funny as any other show on network tv, not named seinfeld

Next to OLP, my vote for underrated band would be.....Saigon Kick.
They pigeon holed themselves by releasing the ballad "Love is on the Way", but put out 4 awesome albums. Hard rock w/ Beatles harmonies. They were described as too heavy for mainstream, and not heavy enough for the metal heads. They still do shows occasionally, mostly in Florida.

Weird observation time:

I've been tasked with creating a couple e-mail distribution groups the last 2 days, with the bigger one being worked on right now.

364 users, but 2/3 of them all have a last name that starts with a letter in the first half of the alphabet.

At least it makes the latter end of it go that much quicker now that I'm through M

Love me some Ramones, but I wouldn't exactly consider them underrated. They're maybe the biggest punk band ever.

Agree with homie, Steely Dan is massively underrated. I'll and King Crimson to that list too. They stayed good for a loooong time and through a lot of personnel changes.

- ZootAllures

really never got their due and credit in the US.
