Where is Shattenkirk going and for what?

Ek thinks Nash for Shattenkirk

if that happens DA should be fired the second the press conference ends

I am not so sure it would be as horrible as it seems, though I would not say without looking at the humbers closer if it would make me a fan.

I say go to Edmonton and say here is Shattenkirk we will take Yakupov. That kid has it in him to be damn good. Edmonton messed his development up. But he has all the attributes to be amazing. He just needs the right fit.

I gotta believe the Edmonton option was explored way back when and Shattenkirk and his agent assured the Oilers he had no interest in signing an extension there, so that avenue probably died.

Yes but that is a hgher value trade without risk. One year of Shattenkirk and the risk of an elite prospect who has not lived up to being great and has asked to be traded seems a fair deal.

I would also want a second rounder or at least a third. Worst comes to worst you can either trade him or let Vegas take him.

Do not discount the Oilers desire to make the play offs. One year of Shatty has balue just not as much as knowing he would resign withnyour club. There is still the chance he could love it in Edmonton after playing a year there. There is still a deal that could be had, just not as high of return because of his unwillingness to sign an extension there at this time.

Well she is a spoiled west county girl. I think Shatty isn't for the females.

Even if he stays it is not such a horrible thing. I would like to see the young forwards play and get a shot. If anything he provides insurance for Parayko, adds depth and is usually a big cog on the team.

If he stays and Sobo comes back we wont see any moves at the deadline again this year because they will be right up against the cap

"Major announcement" per the Blues tomorrow.

JR from the Post says it's Petro being named captain.

So the Oshie trade....must have been lockerroom related.

Failed to resign Backes so Oshie's contract would not be horrible right now because it would have negated bringing Perron back.

Check out the chart on Brouwer here http://www.hockeybuzz.com...-On-Jiri-Hudler/202/78805

That is terrible. That was surely an escaped bullet letting him go.

Sycasm I would not be worried about deadline moves. Besides Shatty could be one of those moves.

Oshie trade - lockerroom related - i think we already knew that.

Brouwer is in a different situation in Calgary than he was here. Blues didn't trade for him for the regular season.

Now whether Calgary was smart to sign him for their roster is a different story.

But it was a profitable deal for the Blues and i would have been glad to retain him.

Don't get too upset. Aside from the Godfather, the sequels are never as good as the original.

I don't believe for a second that Sobotka is coming back this year. The reason i say this is wouldn't the contract already be signed by now even if he is still recovering from injury. Army was in Russia already, he could have gone to wherever Sobotka was at(Czech rep.??)

I think it has more to do with his ice time over here or his role on the team, and as far as i have heard which is nothing, Army hasn't spoken directly to Sobotka, just his agent. Maybe the new coach for his Khl team is making him lean towards staying as Hitch is still here and there might have been a problem there.

We don't need him anyway. Just get him over here and trade him. A very serviceable 3rd liner could be used by many teams.

If we could trade Perron and keep Sobotka i'd be for that.

Still can't believe we signed him. Here come dumb penalties and him putting teammates or himself offsides every game again.

Who is going to stick up for him now that Reaves isn't an every day player and Backes is gone??? Heck wasn't Polak around before we traded Perron.

Perron and Paajarvi on the same team thats just funny. That doesn't happen very often but it does happen.

At least we have grit with Brodziak and Upshall still.

A lot of nonsense? i beg to differ. he wanted top 6 minutes. a contract over 300k dispute? ringing any bells? But maybe that is whats holding up the Shattenkirk inevitable trade???

I doubt Shatty is going anywhere now that he's been named an alternate captain. It would be odd to continue shopping a guy that just given a leadership role.

Just a letter on the sweater. Anyone can and will be traded. Shattenkirk will not be a Blue at the end of this up coming season. Letters mean nothing.

We gave Gretzky the Captaincy for what, 17 games or so………

If they decide they want to keep Shatty, he first has to want to stay here and then we let Berglund go and automatically we have the room to sign him. Does Steen stay? Heard he wants to but no contract talks as of yet. he wanted to sign an extension before the start of the season. we are almost a month away from that

I know that anyone can be traded, but wouldn't it be weird to give someone a leadership role that you're actively shopping?

Shatty is gone one way or another unless the blues pay him Pietro money and he is not worth Pietro money IMO

He is worth JayBo money

$5.8 million AAV

So all signs point to him being traded

Lets wait and see Sobotka back before we talk about trading him

But JayBo is not worth his money, so where does that really leave Shatty. i think with the overpayment of players around 5.5 he will get paid from some other team probably too much around maybe 6.5 - 7
