There two more wh recently played for the Blues in what we could describe as the decline of their careers. Both were positioned on the defensive side and both have played for teams in western Canada.

As for Blues potential Russian interests I would think the likeliest of candidates would be either Dadonov or Prokhorkin. I am unsure of their contract status as the KHL is starting up soon. But those would be the most interesting players that those of us who cannot read Cyrillic can find out about.

I remember odd bits of information as I am sure one of the radio guys mentioned Pellerin winning the Hobey Baker

Army must have thought we are 5% better with Hutton than Nilsson

The nut job mentioned Di Pauli and he was pne of four or five college guys who became free agents that interests me. A perfect fit for adding depth to the Blues. I do not think he would be ready or be more than a third liner but center is a position of weakness for the Blues. Adding prospects to the position with a slight hope maybe a diamond in the rough appears is a good play.

I think that was 100 percent about signing to a second year.

We needed someone under contract the following year to leave unprotected in the expansion draft. If Nilsson wouldn't have signed a two year deal for whatever reason, it would force Armstrong to look elsewhere for the backup position.

Sometimes things are more complicated than it looks on the surface.

Maybe a joint venture of purchasng season tickets. Getting as many tickets for the putdoor game selling someof those thus paying for season tickets. Selling season tickets throughout the season, makng money. Could be done.
- BluemanGuruu

If you're actually considering this, you should know that if you buy season tickets right now then you'll only be able to get as many tickets as you have season tickets (i.e. buy 2 seats of season tickets, get 2 to the winter classic, 4 season seats, 4 winter classic, etc).

I had the option of getting 2 tickets per seat. I had 2 seats last season and i have 4 tickets to the WC.

The original email they sent me led me to believe is could only purchase 2 tickets but that was wrong

PER JR Sobotka may not be coming back now as his team in the KHL has a new coach

Hope he stays in the KHL

Kind of feel the same way.

If he did come back, do the Blues even have cap room for him and where would he fit in the lineup? Taking time away from Jaskin and Rattie i would presume.

Army just trade his rights already. I guess we might get more if he agrees to come back to the NHL first and then we trade him.

If Sobo is not coming back

What are the blues lines?

20-26-15
17-12-91
57-21-18/23
10-28-56/75

I think one of Rattie Jaskin Paajarvi will be moved with Shattenkirk when that trade comes down

Hitchcock mentioned his chemistry wth Schwartz and loading up a line with Statsny, Steen and Tarasenko. So my guess is he would be centering the second line in Hitch's current mindset.

I was reading another JR Blues chat because it is summer and all. I am dumbfounded by the lack of hockey knowledge that goes across those boards.

Such as with Backes and Brouwer going does that mean Steen will get more ice time? JR replies that yes it seems likely.

So none of them realizes that Steen when he is healthy is playing the most ice time f any Blues forward night in and night out? That perhaps that has been a bit of an issue especially going into the play offs with a worn down and injured Steen year after year?

There is more and more nonsense. Especially the Blues could use Vermette crap that thankfully cannot happen now. I mean add an aging player who does not provide any level of upgrade to your lne up except maybe on the face off dot who costs more money than a replacement player who would be likely to be an improvement?

I just wish the the post would have thought anout hiring an actual hockey writer and especially now that there is only baseball and hockey and then college sports.

Hey, that's less than what I paid for mine.....

Not to be a jerk about it, but what were you expecting? Tickets are $125 after fees for the cheapest seats at cost. There is a big demand to go. Once in a lifetime game in St Louis.

If anything, I am surprised tickets are not going for more.

These are reports coming out of Russia concerning Sobotka. Over the years on numerous occasions Russian outlets have had articles with false information regarding players and their intentions. This is not the first time nor will it be the last time.

There is one caveat in that though the agent insists Sobotka is coming here there is a bit of a hesitantcy for Armstrong to say he will be here unequivocally.

Sobotka will be back. It would be the wisest decision if he ever hopes to have a shot at a large NHL contract. Otherwise he owes a season that wpuld come at the earliest in his 30th year season lessening his value compared to having a good season this year and increasing his value.

Why the anger concerning him? It is because we loved his game and were upset at his timing of departure. We could see him fitting perfectly in a role he was not overly excited about. From his perspective you cannot blame him for taking money, being closer to home and getting a chance to be a part of a team in the manner he desired.

The Blues biggest weakness at depth is center. How many centers are available? He is an asset. He could be part of a package as well. He could fetch a fourth or fifth rounder for his rights in the off season. He could fit in and be a big oart of the team and play his years out here. But being in the KHL he offers little value. You cannot trade his rights because it would be akin to dealing with terrorists or paying a ransome. So not only would he have the least value in a trade he also would set a precedent of the kind the Blues would not want for other players.

Right now they can say to a kid who tries this that the history is that players do not then come back to the NHL on another team period. If you abandon your shot with the Blues you abandon your shot at your NHL dream. That is powerful leverage in developing players and signing contracts.

I am not going to say he hurt my feelings and my conception of loyalty so I would not root for him. It isn't like he has raped someone or he assaulted women and acted like a spoiled fool.

Where is Shattenkirk going and for what?

Ek thinks Nash for Shattenkirk
