Yeah, the Canucks are (frank)ed. They have about a hundred year rebuild in front of them. By the time they're contenders again, society will have collapsed and the NHL won't even exist. Every single person on this web site will already be long dead. I don't know why they even go on, it's pointless.

Yeah, I'd be kinda shocked if Michalek is still a Leaf at the end of it. There's lots of LW options (JvR, Komarov, Martin, Leivo, Greening... hell, even Johnson and Leipsic can slot in if needed), so there's really no reason to keep him - especially if we have to have Lupul on the roster.

I think you are correct - but those are the options, Robidas - there is no financial benefit really - and he is willing to be on the injured list this year - only benefit is a roster spot. Cowen will likely be bought out in some way - I think the Leafs are really pissed that he opted for surgery to weasel out of getting bought out. I think they might put Lupul on waivers to see if there is any interest but the Leafs are likely stuck with him for at least one more year. Michalek is the likeliest candidate.
