It's very simple. After Barrie is awarded his 5 to 6 million. The Aves are going to decide that they just can't pay him that. So they will trade him for Kane and his 6 million dollar salary (cap hit of just of 5.25). However, since when you trade for Kane, you are not just getting Kane the hockey player, but also Kane the Party Animal, and his off ice issues, the Aves will have to throw in a conditional 2nd rounder to even it out. The 2nd rounder turns into a 1st in the event Kane is later suspended by the NHL for conduct detrimental to the league.

After this Vesey can easily slide into the Sabres top 6. Everybody wins. The Sabres get a top 4 defensemen, a pick and Vesey. Vesey gets his top 6 spot, and gets to play with his hero Eichel, and the Aves get Kane.

Leaf fans are always the most delusional.

Admittedly I don't follow Tyson Barrie enough, but in what universe does 13 goals and 36 assists get you 6 million?

Wanna bet?

Evander Kane is top line LW. What is Fowler? A 3rd or 4th line D-Man at best.

Kane scores goals, fights, and is an all around top tier forward.

In what world do you eat 50% a Top line LW salary?

I stand by my trade. If I had to trade Kane, I better be receiving both Fowler and Lindholm in return. They take Kane's full salary, which is a bargain IMO.

Kane was the 50th most productive LW in points, and 27th LW in goals in the league last year, I dont really see how thats Top Line offensive.

Jamie McGinn had more goals and points, while hitting and fighting, than Kane did last year and hes considered a 2nd/3rd line tweener.

The guy can be better than his stats line, but he just never puts it all together so with his current level of play, hes more a 2nd line LW

Kane's a 20+ goal scorer and one time 30 goal scorer. I still think in the world of Hockey he has a much better upside than Fowler. Who is again, at best what? 3rd or 4th on your D. You can find that guy anywhere. Not so sure you can with all the intangibles Kane's play brings is the same as what you'd get in return for Fowler.

not disagreeing that fowler is just a 2nd pairing Dman, but calling Kane is a bit of a stretch right now, the guy has consistency issues and health issues, since he hasnt played a full season basically in his entire career.

His on ice value wouldnt be considered a top line LW at the moment. He could if he had a bounce back year, but hes not a cant miss trade target for teams looking for Wing heolp

Landeskog, Backstrom and Huberdeau all 20 goal Left wingers last year. With at least 10 more games than Kane....Just sayin....

Landeskog 53 points (0.71ppg)
Backstrom 70 points (0.93 ppg)
Huberdeau 59 points (0.78 ppg)

Kane 35 points (0.54ppg)

But for reference, the mention that he hits
Kane 171hits 2.63 hits per game
Landeskog 141hits 1.88 hits per game

thats only a 0.75 difference in hits per game, which doesnt really make up for the .ppg differential

Landeskog is a 200ft player, something that Kane is not close to being, and also had 53 points to Kane's 35. Huberadeau has only 20 goals but finished with 59 points and has been improving every single season, compared to Kane who's 35 points is the worse ppg he has had since his rookie season. Finally Backstrom is C who just so happens to have double the points of Kane.

Kane simply doesn't have the hockey IQ to be a top winger. Take a look at the top scorers shooting % and then look at Kane's. The guy simply shoots from all over the place and his playing making is well below average. It is the same problem he has had since he came into the league. His shot selection is not good, and neither is his passing. He has either had bad luck in having coaches who don't know to improve him, he either isn't listening or doesn't care to improve, or he simply can't improve. He was 10th in the NHL in shot on goal, but tied for 89th in goals with 15 other players. If he is your top LWer, then your team is not very good.

In what world does a team give up a valuable young top 4 d man for an under achieving "1st line" LW with constant off ice issues?

Always thought Hecht was a solid player who rarely made a mistake. He never was a huge point producer and didn't have the most talent but played to his strengths. One of my favorite Hecht moments was being at the Lightning stadium and watching Hecht pop Lecavalier in the face with a quick right. Lecavalier had a pretty good black eye for a few days after that.

If the Ducks do that deal, the fans will revolt and Bob Murray will get fired.

Wrong Murray actually. As we are set on D and we need LW scoring not a second pairing Dman. You guys really really really really really really really really really really really really really really overrate Fowler. You guys are turning into Leafs fans down there.

Still remember guy on here mentioning Gardiner, Franson and a first for Tavares could easily get it done.
