They finished 12 points out of 8th with four teams ahead of them for that spot. And those four teams all improved just like the Canucks. They're in tough to sniff a playoff spot IMO.

Kane is 25 in a couple weeks, he'll be long gone before this team is really good again. I'd keep the pick and build with it and the other kids they've taken in the past two years.

I agree but I don't think we could draft one that would be anymore ready than if we waited one more year. Yes a year of development but that's not a massive difference.

The bigger disappointment would be finishing in bottom 5 again after trading it away. A very big gamble.
