The Vesey move was not a mistake, it was very smart! We gave up a third round pick ( 1 of 4) for the opportunity to court a potential top 6 winger. Not sure how that's a mistake.

its idiotic really. options:

1. draft the pick along with the other 3 third rounders and hope for a middling talent or two at best. (bonus points for not running out of contracts)
2. try to package up a bunch of them to move to, what, maybe the first half of round 2??? the pick value charts are ridiculous, murray tried to trade 3 2nd rounders to get back into the teens a couple years ago to draft larkin or tuch- no takers. according to the charts it was an overpayment.
3. trade the pick for exclusive negotiating rights for 6 weeks for a first round talent, and pitch him hard on why he should sign here.

makes perfect sense to me. low risk, high reward.

Maybe you protect him and leave 1 of Franson or Kulikov availabe? I was under the impression that Girgensons has somewhat disappointed? Thoughts?

I'd say its a 95% chance we don't protect Franson. Probably whomever performs better between Girgs or Larrson gets protected. I think Foligno gets exposed.

The story definitely makes Kane sound like a douchey, self-important bumhole. I really am interested to know if the hair pulling/neck grabbing thing is something he has been known to do in the past as a previous post mentioned. He should cut that poop out if so, but it's a lot different than if he just went crazy one night yanking women around by the hair and choking them if taken in that context.
