Tavares isn't even on our radar, we're concentrating on Matthews, Marner, Nylander etc. The future is bright, and it will remain so as long as management keeps concentrating on maximizing the return on their dollars. Free agent signings generally run counter to that goal in a cap league.

Pretty good. .. obviously want Eastwood to portray him at some point, maybe series final. But too old for the first several movies. Man this is going to be epic. I hope they do it properly.

Love the no-risk, potential for high reward moves the Leafs continue making. Sign a promising youngster without giving up assets. Stock the cupboards to over-flowing and a few superstars are bound to develop. Seems too obvious but the will power was just never there. Credit to the management AND Rogers/Bell for allowing it to happen. Tavares may want to reconsider his stance in a couple of years if the draft and development continues in Toronto. We have one of the top 3 youth movements in the league with arguably one of the best management and ownership groups, fan bases, arenas and cities to live in. Not too mention they spend to the cap. If the Leafs stay the course, the future is bright.
