Well it was an opinion, so I don't know how I can be incorrect. I agree also about Tanner's comments. Lewis comments were worse simply because his comments showed that he has no real knowledge of Schenn as a player. It reinforces my belief that most hockey commentators comment from afar, and basically make it up. - MJL
Dude.. its me. I was joking. Crap is crap, it doesnt matter who posted it first. I *thought* that Tanner's crap was worse than Lewis' crap.. but I'm not really saying that you are incorrect.
Edit: maybe there should've been an emoji in there somewhere. |

I don't think what you said about Tanner is incorrect either!

Yeah, I am fully on board with analytics. But production is important as well. And yes possession is an important thing to consider. So is usage. Killorn gets somewhat easier usage than Schenn, which can impact the shot metrics. - Jsaquella
Tanner is a dumb ass when it comes to the analytics. He's the guy in class who masquerades as haughty and intelligent but flunks every exam. He's who people who hate analytics use as a stereotype. |

I think the Flyers are going to be a solid team this year, and there might even be some competition in camp for a few spots. - MJL
I like our top 6. Since 2012 we can all agree we have stability in net. I'm not expecting Ivan Provorov to step in and be our official number one defenseman but should he make the team, this should be the beginning of the Flyers turnaround. I'm just hoping that as a group, we take positive steps forward. |

No, I said he had to earn his place & he did, same goes with Provorov.........he has only earned the right to complete for a roster spot not to have it just handed to him. |

Ivan Provorov is going to terrorize the CHL for one more year and force them to rename their season ending trophies after him.
All of them.

Who said he will be handed a spot? Ivan Provorov is going to come in and take it -- and leave a slew of emotionally damaged, poopty bottom pairing defensemen in his wake. |

Ivan Provorov will demoralize all current Flyers defensemen at training camp.
But he will allow them to keep their miserable careers going for one more year while he forces the Canadian Junior Hockey cognoscenti to acknowledge his greatness. |

I've read his blogs maybe three or four times and found it to be drivel in each case. |

Something to think about this season is that if the Flyers do no re-sign MDZ they will have an open protection slot on defense for the expansion draft. There could be an opportunity to take advantage of a team like the Wild who have more than four dmen worth protecting. |

Interesting, but with Ghost and Gudas on the team for the forseeable future, and Provorov, Morin, Sanheim, Hagg, and Myers all in the pipeline, do we really want to put cap dollars towards acquiring Dmen?

I know what Hextall has said but I just don't see him not making the team unless he is terrible.
He dominated in juniors and unlike most players that jump to the NHL I think he is mentally and physically strong enough for the jump. |

Another righty would be nice to have. Florida look like they will have to expose Pysyk and Petrovic, and they will both be cheaper to sign than MDZ. |

There's a good chance that, at most, 2 or 3 of Provorov/Morin/Sanheim/Hagg/Myers ever turn out to be reliable top-4/top-6 NHL defensemen, so adding a known good, short-term at least, isn't a horrible thing. And if you do have 4 of them turn out, there's always a market for skilled, young defensemen that we could use to supplement other areas. |

Unless he shows in camp/preseason that he can make the team better this year (which he most likely can, will is another matter), there's no reason to start burning that ELC. I think we all agree that he's ready to turn pro, but he has to come into camp and force Hextall to keep him. Were there no salary cap, he'd be a lock for the team. |
