He was charged with NON criminal charges.....I'm assuming people know that's not a criminal offence.
- LeftCoaster

that is so bizarre. What we know of law is charges are for CRIMES. wtf is noncriminal charges? Was a crime committed or not? If not how is he on charges?

WHo the f(ck thought up that wacko system?!
leave it to americans to invent crap like that

He has been charged with both non criminal and one criminal offence - criminal trespass. It is classified as a misdemeanour which is a less serious crime than a felony. Canada has lots of offences where you can be charged and not face a criminal record - many traffic violations, etc.

Let me play GM here. First Here are my projected Expansion protects:

Hank
Dank
Eriksson
Horvat
Sutter
Baertschi
Hansen

Edler
Tanev
Gudbranson

Markstrom

Evander Kane. I would only consider this option if:

1 - It's at a highly discounted price
2 - I've approached my leadership core and got their approval. I know I'm the boss, but I'm not bringing in this type of player, unless they agree to mentor him. Last thing I want is a bad room.
3 - I'm not trading any of my expansion protects or top prospects.

That's where the discount comes in. If I don't get him on the cheap, it ain't happening. So if it's Sbisa, Gaunce and a 3rd or god forbid 2nd. Ok.

You would think Buffalo could do better somewhere else. But maybe not. Who would take him now?

So if we land Kane. What happens to our expansion protect list? Who do we not protect? Or will another mid season trade solve that?

I havn't been drinking tonight. It's 35m until Tuesday.

Just wanna hear feedback. Especially when it comes to our protect list. Cause right now we're fine (unless Rodin shines)

If we got Kane swap him in and Hansen out on the protection list. Does Hutton need protecting? Because he would be a RFA?

I don't know if they need to protect Sutter.

Unless he has a great season, his salary is high for a middle six C.

If was picked, no big deal. Horvat is the #2 C for the foreseeable future.... if not this coming year, then by 17/18 for sure.
They still need to address a future #1.
Bottom 6 C's are available every summer for less than Sutter's cap hit.

There are enough ELC guys on the roster who are exempt that we will basically be able to offer up players who have questionable contracts and force Vegas to take one off the books for us.

What? You haven't even seen what he can do with this team??

Hutton doesn't need to be protected.

I'm interested to see how they make decisions if guys like Larsen, Rodin, and Etem have better than good years. I could see them making those decisions by the TDL and moving out who they decide not to protect. I really think this year's TDL will be busier because of that reason.

Out of that list, I would have Edler, Sutter and Hansen as guys I would consider exposing depending on how this season goes. Of course, I would hope they trade who they decide not to protect by the TDL.

Well thats good with Hutton, and i though NTC had to automatically be protected, or is that NMC only?

Putting in some OT with the knife and fork is he?

Or maybe FLA wants him beefed up for their 'big and heavy game' that worked so well for them in the PO's …all the while watching Lou dig the puck out of the net as usual...

I don't understand this obsession the Canucks have for acquiring a right-handed shot defenseman for the power play. Most of the all time great offensive defensemen had left hand shots: Orr, Park, Bourque, Coffey, Housley, Potvin, Lindstom, Leetch, Robinson, etc, etc., etc. And most played the right side. I just don't get it, someone please explain?

I'd rather have Hansen than Kane. Given all Kane has done off the ice.... He's also only had 1 season where he almost made up for his 5.25 m salary. Others were inconsistent and full of injuries.

Edler needs to be protected. If you're not going to protect Hansen, trade him, because he will be taken in an expansion draft.

Still find it interesting that back in 2013 PK Subban said he thought Jordan had more potential and could become better than him. Wonder if it was just to hype him for the draft or if there's any truth to it.

The thing is if your another team you either don't want to aquire guys like edler Hansen sutter unless you yourself decide to protect them or you get them for next to nothing which the Canucks wouldn't like

Yeah I mean it's obvious that he will never be the player PK is but I wonder if he has more potential than some give him credit for.

The Expansion draft only allows 1 player to be taken per team. I think LV will focus on depth from teams. Canucks don't have any depth on Offense or D. Our depth is goalie. That is why you see so many goalies that we are carrying. I think we will lose a goalie.
Also LV will be looking for experienced players. And player with pedigree for tickets draw power. Hansen is not a seller. Neither is Sbisa but someone like a Sutter has backing of a Hockey family name. I think whichever player we lose can be replaced with the upcoming draft or FA

From what I remember PK was talking about the way he thought the game, and that he had a good skill set. However, there's a huge discrepancy in size between the two players.

Well he has shown offensive ability in the AHL hasn't he ? I think his size will always be a bit of a hindrance tho

Bachman? Both our rookie goalies are except, Miller UFA and that would leave us to protect Markstrom or Bachman. And why would we get rid of Sutter, hes solid on faceoffs, solid defensively, and and put up 20 goals. Possibly more who knows what his full season potential could be in a top 6 roll

I doubt the "Sutter" name is going to sell any tickets in Vegas, it's a new market. They'll take the best players available to try and be as competitive as possible as soon as possible. That's how they'll try and sell hockey. If Hansen isn't protected he'll get picked up.

Our goalie depth doesn't need to be protected. Bachman will be the exposed goalie. Vegas can do better.

I get how the draft works ...my comment was in regards to trying to get something for guys you might not protect ...if they aren't going to be protected by the Canucks then who trading for them is going to protect them ? Why trade for a guy you might lose ... LV has a cap floor they need to hit as well

I don't see the sutter name as any sort of draw in Las Vegas

That is true, but i mean Sutters better then Hansen, sure an arguement could be made Hansen playing up and down the lineup, but so can sutter, hes been on the third line his career and put up 21 goals a few times, if he was riding Shotgun with the Sedins most of the season i wouldnt be suprised if he put up 50+ points
