Not trying to jump in on stat digging because I have a multitude of other ways I am already not doing my work.

But is that rank including or solely based on offense? (I am in the camp that he is sub par in the field based on anecdotal evidence)

You're conflating the overall RF rankings with his defense.

I'm addressing defense specifically.

Maybe his 2015 season might help widen the sample to your liking?

This means that in 2015, Bautista in RF meant 9.9 extra runs against.

His cannon arm meant average defense in right. Since he blew it out trying to show up Delmon Young, his defense in right has been horrible. Putting Upton in right with Jose DHing and Edwin at first should considerably improve the team D.

Sorry but if anyone thinks Bautista is an above average fielder, let alone an average fielder anymore they are very mistaken. He is below average in RF
