I'm just wrapping up 10 months of back and forth to the middle east for work. The level of security in the major european airports is now getting to the point where it is impacting travel..

and there's seemingly an attack every two - three days somewhere in a major capitol...

I fear we are collectively in for this continuing for the foreseeable future... I'm glad I won't be travelling much for the next 12-18 months.

I think hes easily replaceable in the field.

He is slowing down. Move him for some pitching. The Jays dont need his bat. They have more than enough guys who can hit, they need pitching.

It's easy to say move him for pitching. However have you thought about maybe the fact there is no deal there? Any team trading for him has to be okay with getting him as a rental. Then their RF spot has to be open. THEN they have to likely have a rental pitcher they are willing to deal.

People have to syop saying trade this player for this. It is much easier said than done. Im completely fine having Bautista's bat going into the playoffs.

Not easy to move. He can veto any trade as a 5-10 man. Typically he would be going to a team competing or contending for postseason, and they would want to trade prospects for him - not what is needed. He would be the best player in almost any trade scenario - hence you keep the bat in your lineup. This is not the type of player traded to shore up pitching, Jays will get a first round sandwich pick if he walks after they qualify him.
