REad the top post on the page, and get back to me....
Edit: page 12 - burn
Everybody totally and completely understands what you are saying. Promise!
What you are failing to HEAR, is that having guys like Martin and Polak on the team help the team have the ability to be able to dish it back out.
We have all watched this team get made to look like female doges and then lose momentum because we were intimidated out of the game.
We've also seen this team with Orr and McClaren.
If you can't admit that the Leafs were never punked the season Orr and McClaren were running around then there is no point.
I think you are arguing for argument sake.
Having hitters/tough guys who can play hockey is much better for the team, the rookies and the overall morale.
And, one last point. If Marchand runs Marner and Babcock lines Martin up against Marchand the next shift....it sends a message. Loud and clear to everyone but you.
Doesn't prevent it in the current game but Marchand might think twice the next game. |

Where's GingKilmour when you need him to talk about crap that "scouts" say?
Howard Beeger is a hack, who makes Steve Simmons look like a less dumb Steve Simmons. |

This.
Plus, having guys who hit on the forecheck really wears out the D and they start making mistakes which equal turnovers which equals more O-zone time. - underhill14
What really wears out the D is a (frank)ing good cycle that keeps the puck in the opposition zone for 90 seconds at a time... |

This is the main thing really. The leafs in recent years never hit in the o zone. |

This is the thing though...he never thinks twice and when they take a poop penalty trying to get "revenge," he comes right out on the PP with Bergeron and Chara and they score a goal. The rats never think twice. It's why they're so good at their job. |

At least our guys will be safe and not get clobbered repeatedly with monstrous hits, just like Tavares......... - burn
Be nice if you were even talking about the same subject as I am....but carry on.
Talking about after the whistle poop that happened to Sedin ( and not expecting that while a few of our guys are ON the ice )...not about goons or guys on the bench or guys running guys.

Weber is stronger and can physically hurt you with hits and shot, but I found skaters/passers tougher 2 play against
But more grunts with no skill please. |

How often those 2 even gonna be in the ice with Matthews/nylander/Marner? Not a lot.
Even with Martin on the ice someone wants to speedbag someone, they will. |

4th liner and 7th d.... Meh. Just funny people think something that happens all the time is going to stop with 2 guys when it didn't stop with bigger tougher dudes.
Blind faith I guess. |

Sure, and Martin will skate over and punch him in the face Id bet....unlike what happened in Vancouver.
Hey Burn if you don't agree with some of my posts.....just ignore them, I don't have the time to re-explain the whole convo after you take it a different direction to try and prove a point you've said on here about 100x
I've already agreed Goons are not a deterrent...I don't even think of Martin or Polak as goons |
