You're right my bad I completely ignored the fact that he said Opening Night lineup. Also isn't he suspended 3 games?

Based on my math and projected line up below, I think the Flyers will be slightly under the cap on opening night. A forward can be sent down 3 games later to create the necessary breathing room.

Raffl-Giroux-Voracek
Weise-Couturier-Simmonds
Read-Cousins-Laughton
Lyubimov-Gordon-Bellemare
Vandevelde
Schenn

MDZ-Gudas
Ghost-Macdonald
Provorov-Streit
Schultz
Manning(Signed for 750K x 2)

Mason
Neuvirth

I would rather Belle sit if Love shows some offensive upside

I have VandeVelde in the AHL.

I had:

Schenn-Giroux-Simmonds
Raffl-Couturier-Voracek
Laughton-Cousins-Wiese
Lyubimov-Gordon-Read
Bellemare

Del Zotto-Gudas
Streit-Schultz
Provorov-Ghost
Manning

Mase/Neuvrith

Left me with $1.506mm in cap space according to capfriendly.com

Depends on how the PK pairs work out.

Well now that we have Gordon we could presumably put him and weise on the pk together

Gordon, Weise, Bellamare, Read, Raffl, Couturier, and hopefully Laughton can take the PK duties. I don't want Giroux out there at all if they can help it.

I really don't want G or Coots out there during PK if they can work it that way.

Of course in order to keep G and Coots off the PK you'll need PEB.

Im thinking Cooter will always be the #1 PK option.

I'm thinking an AHL demotion could be in store for one of the following in order of most likely to least:

Lyubimov
Laughton
Vandevelde
Macdonald
Bellemare

Injuries always play a factor as well.

Can't see any scenario where Couturier isn't the top PK option.

Really like the look of this lineup, Line two with Jake as a playmaking winger and two great possesion players who are hard to get off the puck.

Im hoping Jake returns to form after his injurious season. We need him to be up on his skates and carrying the mail. Backing off the defense with his speed and power.

Even with the down season and injury, Voracek still scored 55 points and was on a 62 point pace. If he was at his normal goal total & shooting %, he ends up with a point total close to Giroux.

He is a beast. Rough start, the got going before the injury. Did a good job creating offense and driving possession. If he's healthy I expect a good season.

I really want Schenn with Coots. They had chemistry last year.

Laughton/Raffl-G-Simmonds
Schenn-Coots-Voracek
Laughton/Raffl-Cousins-Weise
PEB-Gordon-Lub

Read and VdV in the Cote suite.

That first line wing I'd try Laughton and Raffl at with the loser taking line 3 to start.

Not sure you're giving Giroux enough to work with on the top line. I think he needs the skill of either Voracek or Schenn to fully utilize what he brings to the table.

Coots is one of the best penalty killing forwards in the entire league, he will need to be out there. if anything, u scale back PP time for his PK efforts, although its the last thing i want to see. unfortunately, hes our best option out there
