ok...lets try and put this to rest,ok?
HERE is what Braves wrote

He WAS NOT ON a POLITICAL tirade, he was making a comparison about a VERY HOCKEY SITUATION, and simply used two common real life situations.

Sorry, not going to let you get away with your weak attempt at deflection. I share your opinion that StLBraves was not trying to "start" a political discussion. However, he used the political term "climate change deniers" in a derisive way to imply ignorance or lack of intelligence. That is a mechanism used to break the COC that has supposed plausible deniability - the "I didn't mean it that way" defense is weak.

You're right, I think any one who doesn't understand science, and what is happening as living in the dark ages.
the board became littered with "stop posting non hockey" after you (I finally went back and saw you were the person who felt appalled by the REAL life comments on smoking and climate change. I can't make up stop smoking or make you believe in the latter, but neither St. Louis Braves or I CAME to this site looking for a fight about something else especially something based on ignorance...

Sorry your feathers got ruffled but come on, deflection or not if someone doesn't believe the data available, you might as well go visit NOAH'S ark in iNDIANA WITH THE DINOSAURS IN THE CAGES NEXT TO CAMELS...
sssshhhh get a grip and get back to arguing the hockey aspect....b/c to me this is as past history as the posters who think you need big goons, big slow defenders, and Mike Keenan to improve the Hawks.

I finished my Snickers and am wondering if the Hawks could use the Matt Dumba deal AGAINST TvR...he will earn $2.35 million in 2016-17 and $2.75 million in 2017-18.

I don't know if it fits as a comparable because I am prejudice towards TvR, and since his draft year I have known exacty what Minny was looking for in drafting Dumba over Trouba, and besides the toughness, he hasn't put it together.

Now I ask myself: has TvR?
(I sorta think so...in that he is what he is and I like what he is...)

Is Dumba equal to TvR in his handles judgement edging?

I am gonna (with prejudice and less views)say no.

But again the filthy upside word comes into the signing(s), and I gotta think Dumba may have the edge long term...
but is long term TWO years?

I lied.

I haven't had a Snickers since I took a group of young newly arrive Asians in a summer program to the Mars plant, in 1978.

I said nothing about smoking and I didn't give my position on climate change - I simply said it shouldn't be a subject for this website because it gets people's panties in a bunch on both sides of the topic. As for the science of climate change - I'm very knowledgeable on the true results of the scientific method, a method used by scientists for eons and one I'm happy to state I endorse whole heartedly. As for smoking, good science proved the disastrous results smoking has on people and I'm happy light was shined on the tobacco industry for hiding the science they knew for decades.

I'm sure you'll feel the need to have the last word on this wiz and I won't respond, but I also won't let stink float past my nose without pointing out where it's coming from.

Wiz, I respect your hockey knowledge and happy you post here and share hockey knowledge and opinions with us ... but ... not to be argumentative, but I would take Dumba over TvR because I like the physical play that he brings that TvR doesn't have. I know physicality isn't everything but I would give Dumba the edge in quickness and speed too. Probably TvR has the edge in positional play and instincts.

Oh if I was Las Vegas I would too, probably over TvR, because they don't have the big three the hawks do playing infront of/with him.

I was really more trying to put a PRICE on TvR..and this Dumba deal scares me.

I love the kid (Dumba) because he is trash talking shaw type defender....I just think Minny has to feel they want to see more soon.
Yeah YOU are right...he is speedier total in short space first two steps AND and in many rushes...but he isn't as slick on his edges...
So you are probably right b/c the games are now so quick back and forth...but TvR is quick in other aspects.

I am glad we are again good!

Ladies and gents...

Let's put the thread back on topic, or at the very least some sort of sports-related conversation.

Thanks.

In regards to this...is it more important to a defender to be fast? Or be quick? Meaning, or does it not matter either way as long as they are in the right place at the right time?

It's interesting when you look at the Dmen in that draft year.

Ryan Murray and Griffin Reinhart drafted ahead of Morgan Rielly, Lindholm, Dumba, Pouliot, Trouba, Koekkoek, Ceci, Maatta, Matheson, McCabe, Severson and Gostisbehere.

And Stanbo got TVR for the cost of an air flight.
