It's great to see that more and more people are getting on the trade Tanev train. I hope that I contributed in some small part. i'm sure some of those media idiots come and read what the fans on here have to say...

I'm starting to think it's more and more likely that Ryan Callahan might be on of Benning's targets for "gritty" scoring winger.

Not that Callahan is a terrible player but that contract sucks and I could see Benning over paying for his intangibles.

yes, maybe we can secure some of Tampa's riches in the process... dangling Tanev, who some think is a top 30 dman, but in reality is a top 99 dman (ie: a legit 2nd pairing dman)...

I am not a fan of his, reminds me of Cloutier, Esplen, Matt Berry...all just writing nonsensical drivel to create controversy and produce hits, all the while throughing his hands up and claiming shock and innocence at being attacked.

2 pieces of advice...be smarter with your posts try subtle mocking, then you will be around to still talk hockey in here. Or just stay away from and live another day, calling him a d!ck head doesn't hurt him, he probably chuckles as he sees posters banned.

I didn't call him a d!ck head. I appreciate the unsolicited advice

If we didn't trade for Gudbranson, he would of made the team.

Still mad regarding my constant mocking of little Franky Corrado?

...and I replied to the wrong post...tough morning

I'm a big Tanev fan but I don't think many think he is a top 30 Dman in the league.
He is one of the premier defensive Dman in the league and in his prime though. With any luck he becomes as good as Stralman or Hjalmarsson.

Regardless of where he ranks in the league he is one of if not the best on this team and we have seen how hard it is to acquire defensemen.
If in a year or two Joulevi, Brisbois and Tryamkin etc have taken the next step, then you can see about moving Tanev but right now there is no point.

Too hard to pass up....

In actual news. Utica has signed Cody Kunyk to a AHL only deal.

He spent last year in Denmark playing and the year before with the Syracuse Crunch.

He attended Canucks camp back in 2012.

If you give up tanev and take back a Callahan I think Tampa would be inclined to give up one of their better prospects or a high pick, but unless your trying to tank and create your own cap problems I don't see the reasoning to do a trade like that

IF you trade Tanev, which is preposterous as it's completely a media driven fantasy, you'd better be prepared to give up 240 plus goals again which puts the team at the bottom of the league once again.

Perhaps if it was Sustr and Callahan but even then I'm not sure it makes sense.

To be clear, I'm not advocating trading for Callahan but could see him as a target Benning is either offered or goes after.

So I guess Tanbir from Surrey is deleting his Twitter soon?

EDIT: I think it already is.

Even with Tanev, I'm prepared for this team to be giving up close to that number of goals again.

I think the goal-tending was outstanding last year and not at all convinced that we see it happen again especially with the new rules.

While our D has some new faces and no doubt will be more physical, I'm also not convinced they will be significantly better. A lot will depend on how Edler recovers from his broken leg and whether Hutton can continue his development.

Hi,

The new blog is up. A look at Philip Larsen and Alex Burrows, ping-pong protege.
