Let's not all forget that the purpose of having Hunwick and Polak are simply as placeholders for the youngsters - and to earn us some draft picks or prospects in trade.

The same is true of the Matt Martin signing. It adds a gritty 3rd/4th line player with speed. That makes Komarov even more tradeable.

The more assets with value that you add - the better off you will eventually be.(assuming you don't make Hall for Larsson type trades).
