You have to think that's one of the worst things an NHL player could hear these days. It's probably the worst destination of all teams at the moment. At least teams that are a mess right now, like Vancouver, are at least nice cities. And crappy cities like Edmonton and buffalo at least have up and coming teams.

I can't think of a worse combination of a terrible city combined with a bad team that has no future. Can you?

I am not a fan of the sens but you can't say it's a terrible city, I rather enjoy visiting actually as long as I leave the leaf jersey at home that is.

Good to hear, because the two times I've been there, the service has been absolute poop.

What I mean by that is over an hour to get your food. The actual wait staff are very polite, but c'mon, I can't wait over an hour for my kids to eat.

We've done the tapas place a few times. It's good.

Have you seen that Cumbrae's is going to move across the street? It's going to be huge (and probably more expensive). We probably shop there twice a year - just too damned expensive. But poop, good meat!

- Atomic Wedgie

They had one waitress, probably head waitress, who kept it all together. Most of them seemed to be rookies, but the one was freaking unbelievable. She wasn't even our waitress, but she made sure we were taken care of. Maybe you went while she wasn't there.

We walked in, it was packed, no tables. She made room for us to sit, took a beer order while we waited, which was only about 10 minutes. In order to keep our wait to a minimum, she asked us if we'd like menus while we waited for a table. Offered to take our order before we even sat at our table, if we preferred.

That cumbrae's is huge. The old Sleep Country. You see the homeless shelter prank they pulled there?

edit - the flank steak is awesome.

I can confirm this (not the breakfast, but that it's in Plymouth Harbor). I can also confirm that Plymouth Rock isn't much of a rock.
- 1979AD

Meh.

Go to Charlston Harbour instead (next to Boston) and tour the U.S.S. Constitution.

And then go for drinks at the Boston Beerworks.

Because I don't rely on internet food writers to tell me what to eat and drink and form my opinions for me? thx

and i never said this

- TheMussel

yes, as I say, you're welcome to your own opinion.

Some people just like hot dogs, instead of a good steak. that's their opinion too.

Nobody is saying it is a terrible city.

What we are saying is if you are a 24 year old hockey player making millions of dollars, there are at least 20 other places where you would rather be.

(frank) no. Holland does/did literally nothing. Just skated around. I don't mind poopty offensive players if they actually bring something else to the game. Holland just sort of, existed

As I've said, in terms of NHL cities, it's near the bottom. Overall, compared to say, Baltimore, or Akron Ohio, it's better.

The Harper regime pretty much ended that influence.

The civil servant expensing dinners no longer exists.

I can't agree with this.

Let's say the skill is equal, the way they play the game is definitely not.

Hyman hits and plays with intensity.

Soshnikov hits and plays with intensity and has a decent, snipery shot.

Holland doesn't hit, doesn't have intensity and........nothing else. He just doesn't seem to have anything in his game that stands out. He doesn't PK, PP, FO%.....

I just can't think of anything to defend him for.

He was on the PP last year, believe that's where a good chunk of his points came from. he was 4th on the team in PP points with 11, tied with Parenteau.

Their skill isn't equal so no let's not say that.. Hyman isn't very good. Why people have a hard on for Hyman I will never understand. Hyman might be an ok 4th liner depth guy. More then likely a mediocre AHL guy..

Let's be real, he was on the PP because of lack of options not skill.
