I dont get the food and drink thing... If you come to Ottawa what food are you missing out on? What am I missing?
- senstroll

I look at this years Entry Draft and Matthews actually won the Lottery. His choices were Winnipeg, second, Columbus, 3rd, Edmonton, 4th. Ottawa is much better then 2, 3, 4.

There's a difference between what it is like to live in Ottawa as a civil servant raising a family or student and what it is like to live in Ottawa as a young multi-millionaire.

As a young millionaire, it's simply not on the top half of your list.

Sorry.

- Atomic Wedgie

Nope, for sure it's not.

LA
Anaheim
Montreal
Toronto
Calgary
New York x 2
Boston
Miami
San Jose
chicago
Dallas
Nashville
Colorado

All easily better places to live for these guys. Many more I think you'd find most would prefer.

Nice French Quarter, in the East End. Didn't know anything about it, until I started dating a French girl, from Ottawa. Also a good place to see the Leafs play and see real Leafs fans in action. Nothing like dominating an arena, unlike the ACC that has too many sushi eaters!
- PrinceLH

As a sushi eater, I find this post very offensive.

But in all seriousness, variety is the spice of life, over the years I've had plenty of fun discovering food in Ottawa, and on average, the quality is higher than in Montreal or Toronto in my opinion.

- TheMussel

I would disagree with you, somewhat. However, Ottawa has a nice crossover of both kinds of Canadian Cuisine, since it's at the junction of the two cultures. It's why I've always had a good time, in the Ottawa region.

Wonder if the Ducks will be able to get Holland somehow. Played ok for Carlyle plus he was originally an Anaheim draft pick.

Ducks need some more lefthanders in their lineup and Holland could fill a void left by Thompson since he was injured or slide to a wing when needed.

No room agreed... but they treated the guy like a jerk.
All he did was try every shift out there- I hope he lands with a club that will give him some minutes.

If you're complaining about this move you seriously need to get a grip on reality.
This was a 3rd/4th line player on a 30th place team. With the high ceiling young players the Leafs have in need of a roster spot, Holland is done.

Your obsession to hate on everything Ottawa is quite impressive actually.
- ClarksonDavid

I don't hate it/them. It's not a total dump, like say, Buffalo and Edmonton. It's a reasonably unoffensive place. There is just nothing all that good about it. There is nothing there that makes you think "man it would be great to be there". It's just.... bleh.

I didn't even know Canadian cuisine was a thing

All I can say is this, the impact that politicians has on eating and drinking establishments can't be understated. It's the reason why a city of comparable size in North American that isn't a capital city would pale in comparison.

No.

Just no.
