Thats not the point, this is what...the 3rd incident that has popped up with him this offseason. Accused, charged, and now arrested. Even though they all tied together...every time its a fire storm when Kane and his off ice issues fire up.

He can be an effective player, but I think his image does more harm to the team then good at the moment, team needs to act on something. Its not like this was a 1 time occurrence with him, its a string of distractions that probably wont stop after today too.

im not saying the charges are the same with Voynov, just that the team suspended him.

Kane is a lightning rod at the moment, if the Sabres dont do something about him, then its just going to get worse. The org needs to suspend him for the time being, do all the optics of that, getting him checked in for help, etc.

If he just cruises into training camp, its going to be non stop questions about him. For the sake of the team and the current players, they shoudl suspend him

That's incredibly narrow minded. You said they should suspend him for the year for petty charges. Give me a break. If it was an Avs player like your god Zadorov you'd be clamoring for the kid to get a second chance. Let's wait and see how the case plays out before making rash decisions. Or should we just hang him like a witch like they did in the 1800s??

there is no defending the guy, hes been charged, accused, arrested in a few months period. He needs to get his act together, shut him down, let him figure his crap out and not be a media distraction for the team.

If he plays, his attitude/etc storyline is going to be dragged into the locker room after every game with reporters asking him questions.

Team suspend him so he doestn hurt the on ice product with distractions

I don't know about this. Kane (Patrick) got charged last summer, came out and had the best regular season of his career. Sometimes leaving your personal stuff out and letting your mind be free on the ice can do wonders for a persons psyche. Taking away the only this he's ever known (Not saying a suspension shouldn't/couldn't be in order) isn't always the best thing for a young man with some issues. BTW, not comparing the two Kanes talents, situations, standing with the team, or anything else. Just that they both got in trouble in the offseason.

Is this getting blown out of proportion, yes. Will Kane scew up again, Yes. Buffalo, put him on your number one line and PP, try your best to keep him out of trouble and the media for 6 months, build up some trade value and ship him out!!! You will not get the value you gave up but will get something decent. Kane has one more city / trade left and then he will be out of the NHL.

I wanted them to suspend Varly when he was going through his stuff just so the team doesn't have to deal with the distractions, just let the legal issues clear up.

But this isnt a 2nd chance scenario with kane, you are muddying the waters here, my whole point is that the team needs to do something, if he goes through another incident and they just stand idle by, its not a great look for the org. Sabres could be good this year and they dont need the distraction of Kane and his legal issues since they are still all open. Reporters will be dragging this stuff into the locker room after every game, asking Kane, his teammates, etc if they dont do something about the guy.
