It's an investigation because he had a complaint filed against him. It has nothing to do with whether the owner presses charges.

I swear some folks can't help themselves . They were never young and a little wild . Thank god there was no social media when I went to University . Been in some pretty wild parties and circumstances with my football team mates. I think he gets himself in the bad situations at times but he is nowhere near as bad a person as folks in here would want you to believe. I have seen a lot worse believe me. I think what they do is going to depend on if the videos are made public and how bad they are. If he's actually shown grabbing a girl by the neck and hair and trying to force her into his car, that's a real problem. People can say the charges are minor and no big deal but if the video comes out and it shows what the Buffalo police have claimed that it shows, nobody's going to care that the actual charges are of a minor nature. That kind of behaviour isn't tolerated by most people and shouldn't be tolerated so the team is going to need to deal with that.

If the video never actually goes public, the team isn't going to do anything drastic because there won't be the same level of public outrage.

For example, if there was a video of Varlamov's incident floating around, like there was for Ray Rice, he'd be playing in Russia now instead of the NHL regardless of what happened with the charges against him. If people actually see what happens instead of speculating, and it's bad, that changes everything.

My issue with the Bills was always the owner. Cheap and rich doesn't always make for a good sports owner. Maybe it'll be different with Pegula.

So Kane F's-up a month ago, it hits the news, everyone goes Batpoop crazy.
Takes the DA a month to issue an arrest warrant for the same crime, it hits the news everyone goes Batpoop crazy.
Next month, he'll appear in court, it will hit the news and people will go Batpoop crazy.
