same salary as Clarke McArthur - jimbro83
Yep. Not sure Kreider will ever live to the expectations. Regardless, 20 goals las season was pretty decent secondary scoring and for 4.75M$ per season, it falls slightly above the ballpark if you look across the league. I might not see the full potential you guys see in Kreider since I don't watch as many Rangers games.

I was in Montreal in June for the Formula 1 race and Friday night at like 2:30 am were waiting in this longass line for pizza when a cab pulls up and out comes Evander Kane, cuts the entire line walks up to the guy at the counter and gives him a $100 bill and says make it 10 mins.. the guy looks at him and is like well it takes longer than 10 mins to make your pizza.. he looks at him and is like I just gave you a hundred bucks make it 10 mins..
guys a facking doosh - mrn22

Offseason, not the best time for new material other than the annual someone named Kane gets arrested stories. |

The Kreider deal is fair if you consider those who have a similar AAV. |

I don't see it, I think he will be a low 20's g scorer, but with that said, combine the low 20's goal scoring with his playoffs, in a couple years players who have the same comparables will be making more than 4.75 most likely. So this is a great deal. |

How long before we see Evander in Arizona or Ottawa with Buffalo retaining 50% of the salary? |

Really the only reason he had an off year was because he was recovering from a wrist injury. - Feds91Stammer
Why would Tampa do this deal? Just to free up cash to sign Kucherov and get viable assets back for Johnson? |

Dude is tops in the league every year in HDSCF. Gets a bad rep because he doesn't score 50 goals every year. - Feds91Stammer
You have no idea how tired I am of arguing Nash's merits when focus of many, not necessarily here, is just on inconsistent scoring. |

Free up cash this year for Kucherov and Nesterov. Free up cap next year for Palat, Drouin, Sustr, Koekkoek. |

Holy crap. Didn't realize Tampa had that many players to sign. |

Yeah plus Johnson is seen as a player that is not necessarily a core player. It would be preferred to keep Namestnikov to replace him but in the completely hypothetical trade I came up with he would be added as another piece to acquire more cost controlled players. Add in the likelihood of retained salary or a buyout on Filppula and things get even trickier. They have a couple of upcoming forward prospects in Point and Stephens that I think will be very solid players. |

Palat IMO is considered more valuable than Johnson. |

I don't know that Tampa would need to buy out Filppula, two years at 5 mil could be an attractive option to an expansion team trying to reach cap floor. |

The good and the bad of having a bunch of very good young players. You think they are going to buyout Cally eventually? Not sure of his buyout numbers and if its feasible. |
