Would be an absolute steal, (Getting paid less than the likes of Tanner Glass and Michael Grabner) but I'd like 2 more years, I'd like 4 altogether, helps remove uncertainty every year with how to fill out a roster. His skill set is one that even if they overpaid a bit at the back end ($3.5-$4M) it would be worth it.

Wait...Rangers offered $4.75 million and the Kreider wanted $5.25. And they compromised at $4.625? Shouldn't a compromise had fallen somewhere between the 2 price points?

Rangers wanted five years, Kreider four to be UFA quicker. That's why AAV is slightly lower than was discussed because he gets to become a UFA quicker.

I was in Montreal in June for the Formula 1 race and Friday night at like 2:30 am were waiting in this longass line for pizza when a cab pulls up and out comes Evander Kane, cuts the entire line walks up to the guy at the counter and gives him a $100 bill and says make it 10 mins.. the guy looks at him and is like well it takes longer than 10 mins to make your pizza.. he looks at him and is like I just gave you a hundred bucks make it 10 mins..

Why would NY do this? Would require moving Zib to wing. Johnson is an RFA and likely will get at least $5 mil next year, eating up additional cap space. Plus he is coming one great year and one last year in which he struggled, so he may have a bit to prove as well. I like Johnson a lot but unsure NY goes this route but it's an interesting idea.
