I don't know, he's always quoted on here.

Although Kreider is a good and speedy player, its good on the rangers to not pay north of 5 million. He's not nearly as productive as many other NHL players earning a similar salary this offseason. But good deal for a good depth player.

Compare Kreider's deal to Hagelin's 4 years @ $4 mil per. This is way better, but the Rangers should have gotten a better return on Hagelin than Etem and the pick.

Stamkos is a better player, yes, but for a team like NJ an 8.5mil cap hit like Stamkos makes no sense. You are getting 60-70pt production out of Palmieri I am assuming while playing with Taylor Hall since he got 57 playing with garbage this past year. Why pay double the cap hit for Stamkos who will maybe get 10 more points than him if he stays healthy? I'm not questioning who is the better player, I am saying for the money Palmieri is a no brainer for a team like NJ. So yes, I would still take Palmieri over Stamkos.

I always like when on occasion the Post assigns Brooks to do a baseball column or football. He still uses that condescending tone & "I know more than you do" spiel except then we know he's REALLY writing about something he has no idea about.

Not exactly, Jimbo...
It was 10.650M before Kreids signed. So now it is 6.025M. But RD reminded me last night; that is not with Buch' 925k. So with Buch in and one of the 600k guys out, that leaves us with 5.7M in cap space.

Wait...Rangers offered $4.75 million and the Kreider wanted $5.25. And they compromised at $4.625? Shouldn't a compromise had fallen somewhere between the 2 price points?
