maybe they have added enough PKers this summer to take Nash off the PK and let him concentrate on scoring, I've been beating that horse for awhile - jimbro83
Nash was great on the PK in '14-15. The team had a 84.3% kill rate (6th best) and he potted 4SHG. Not that it worked last season when his overall scoring, SHGs, and team PK were all in the tank. But I think he proved the PK is a great place to use his explosiveness and finishing ability. |

I hate the fact that I have to agree to agree with this. and I'm a big Rick Nash fan - MiloslavHorava
I'm not going to say that you're 100% wrong either. His salary is high. And he did not score enough last year...LAST year. Part of the problem for me is that plenty of people on here were calling for him to be run out of town at any cost solely based on that one year. I suspect that if we look back over Nash's time here once this contract is up (or, just off our books), you could look at his average goals per season and be pretty satisfied for the money he was paid.
That, along with all the other facets of his game being at an elite level lead me to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he doesn't bounce back this season, I will be more willing to revisit my position on his worth. |

Not defending it, but I don't think they really "pick" the bathroom.
"Man, I'm drunk. Gotta find somewhere to lay down. Couch is ope- ohhh yes, FREE TOILET SPACE" - eichiefs9
Well I have been hammered out of my mind, and I never once crashed in a bathroom. Crapped in a fish tank and I didn't remember doing it, but always ended up somewhere comfortable. |

The argument to that would be: he has a much better chance of utilizing said explosiveness and finishing ability 5v5 and on the PP. PK minutes may be wearing him down and holding out for around 4SHG/year is tiring him out and not allowing him to have the chance to capitalize playing in other situations. |

yeah he was, but as he gets older, I don't think him expending so much energy on the PK is going to help him
32 year old player needs to conserve energy in a long season you hope goes until June and the PK is the most energy sapping of anything that goes on out there |

there are people I am friends with on facebook who spent their entire 4 years of high school in detention that talk about the constitution several times a day on facebook. - jimbro83
YEP! The funny thing is these guys actually think they KNOW what they're talking about, this goes for both sides of the politics aisle, they're all A HOLES!

Yup, especially bringing in Pk specialists. If they need him I'm sure they will put him out there, but he should be a last resort now. |

Kreider and Nash both had pretty miserable seasons last year. If they turn it around, look out.
Hayes and Girardi too.
But if they turn it around, I bet some other players will have miserable seasons |

Honestly, what bothers me the most is that you so casually just tossed that in there like it wasn't something anyone would want to question. |

Sure, and I get that argument. However, he's perfectly designed for the situation - long reach, great hands, explosive skater, good finisher - all tailor made for making an opponent pay for an aggressive posture. And even when he doesn't generate a breakaway going the other direction, you better bet it's something the opponent's thinking about that they'd rather not. |

The losing a step with age/need to conserve energy argument is the only way I see keeping his PK minutes down. |

Of course, but do you really want to give him all that extra exposure and risk fatigue/injuries? When you're paying him that kind of money, you want him to be playing in situations in which he can score. There are plenty of equal-or-better PK'ers out there that make 1/4 of what Nash does. In fact, you guys probably signed 2 already this offseason. |

I wasn't a puker. I could drink as much as I wanted and just went to sleep. I think I threw up once and that was after much too much vodka. Never had it after that. |
