Yeah I have no doubt there is a mental maturity that goes along with being physically mature. I don't think I was mentally mature to be a professional before the age of 21, even if I had the skill. I just wonder how much of being a bust is "being rushed by the team"

In Ron we must trust! I do but the anticipation is driving me nuts! But when I envision this team in a season or two, I see really good things! I hope others see the same!

Seems fair although I'd give him 2 or 3 years at the same price.

I feel Schenn is heavily underrated by those who want him gone. I personally think he'll turn out to be bettee than Simmonds someday. Maybe not in terms of toughness or scoring but being a more balanced player. I like Schenn's skating, passing and shot better than Simmonds.

Arbitration awards are lower than the AAV on long term deals for RFAs because the number the arbitrator comes up with only lasts for 1 or 2 years.

I need to listen again, but Konecny interview at development camp, I recall him speaking about this in a positive matter. I see zero reason to rush the kid into the NHL.

So would I, especially if he's signed long term.

I don't want him gone, but they have to avoid overpaying. The Brayden Schenn who showed up from January through the playoffs is worth $5mm or more. But we don't know if that Schenn will show up for 82 games.

If he's the inconsistent guy, who put up 20 goals and 45 points but doesn't bring much when he's not scoring, then he's simply not worth much more than $4mm

Sam Gagner still turning out to be a productive player is a testament to his hockey sense... b/c yeah, his body and his skating were nowhere close to where they needed to be when then put him in the lineup. He could have easily ended up being another Rob Schremp.

All prospects need to be handled differently most of these kids are physically able to handle pro hockey, but very few are mature enough to withstand the grind. On prospal, I remember his breakout year in the ahl very well. I went to lots of phantoms games back then and recall him dominating pretty much every game I saw. One in particular was against the Kentucky thoroughblades, he toyed with them every time he touched the puck and scored on a beautiful end to end rush. Was very sad he was traded for floofy mcdaigle.

Kind of fitting on a blog on how to fizzle out of the league. Granted innocent until proven guilty, but I doubt he gets arrested unless they have enough evidence to make a case against him.

It's just too many instances of it. At the very least he's got to be a lot smarter about the situations he's getting himself into.

I believe strongly that an accusation isn't always true, but when there's repeated instances...
