The only way this could be better is if the term was longer. But maybe now he will bring it every night in an effort to get that final pay day at 29.

I believe so. You have to qualify that player at 10% above their base salary or something like that. But once a player declines the QO, you can offer anything to them even if it's below what they made the year before.

I still say Hayes 1-1.5 for 2 years

You should look back at how much time you spent debating this deal. Added bonus, how much of that time was defending numbers you never mentioned. Then drink. Lol

Kind of makes you wonder if there will be something else before the summer is over.

Hayes isn't going to get much

if they can get hayes signed for less than $3M per we should be able to still sign a decent depth guy... maybe still room to trade for Shatty

I think its a great deal, much better than 5.25. Gives the Rangers more cap. Also if Kreider can finally string together a couple good seasons, gives the Rangers time to extend him.

If he managed that, depending what they would have to give up. Gorton will have had one fantastic summer

The last 2 Summers with Gorton have been impressive on the contract front. I know it looks like another move is coming up with all the cap space but I've still got the feeling it'll be in season. Gorton seems like the type that will wait for the market to come to him or not deal at all.

I'm hearing there is a deal in the works between NYR and TBL.

Hearing Johnson and Namestnikov for Miller and Lindberg.

Between this & the McD deal from a few yrs back we got a lot of great, young bang for our buck. Now its on Kreider to really break out like he should have by now & blow up this league.

We have over $10M in cap space to sign Kreider and Hayes

We don't need to move anyone to clear any space

- rangerdanger94

Kreider got 4 years at 4.6 per. I think we'd be stupid to not be in Vesey sweeps. Have to replace Staal. Should be priority. Don't think they can do without retaining salary. Same for Nash. Would be nice to get Fowler for Nash and just dump Staal.
