I crap on tanev a lot but it's not because I don't see his value to the Canucks ...he is far more valuable to Van than in a trade ...he should not go anywhere as his return won't be enough to offset his loss to the team

The hall for Larsson trade should be not used as a comparable to any potential deal ...could it happen again sure ...should anyone hope for it no

Jones for Johansen was more along the lines of what to expect ...but Seth Jones value is much higher than tanev

Stevie Y would be fired if he tried to trade drouin for a tanev type ...these tanev for young high first rounders are just none sense ...his value is not in the same category as a Johansen, Jones, Reinhart, or drouin

You have been rough on your assessment as of late on the Canucks. First off why would a team want to trade its best Dman ? No he won't be a point producer because of his lack of shot. He does however clear the puck out of the zone quickly and has an excellent first pass. He put up close to 30 points without PP time. He has great defensive numbers and leads in most categories.

He is 26 , so why would a team building a young core D want to move their top line Dman.

Most Canucks get no respect from the media and other fan bases . When Carolinas coach says everyone has him on the radar, I believe him.

Tanev hasn't put up more than 20 points since junior ..18 points last year

He is on people's radar because he was a virtual no name til recently so now he is a known commodity

I know I have been rough but I just don't see what some are projecting

That deal answered a pressing need for each team. Nashville paid a high price for a 1C. That's why we need to draft/acquire a prospect sooner than later.

When Hamonic was being shopped around last year I heard Benning turned down a Tanev for Hamonic offer. I also have heard similar trade proposals immediately shot down soon as Tanev is mentioned.

It doesn't matter really what you think. Benning has been very active on the phones the last few weeks and Tanev is not part of the deal. He is going to be a Canuck. He brings what Benning wants, he has a very respectable contract and he makes his partner much better.

MacIntrye also reported about Benning being very active does not include Kane or Landeskog.

You are going to be very surprised this year of what we have already in the system

I hope so. This year we acquired a blue chip D prospect, year before a forward, year before that a Goalie. We still need that high end prospect down the middle.

When you have a team that needs something that's hard to find it ups the price ...things like legit 1c, 1d, starting goalie cost a lot ...other pieces can be found a bit easier thus cost less

Aside from C, JB has been drafting them in the high rounds. Trading for one will be costly. Draft & develop.

There are probably less than half the teams in the league that have a blue chip C prospect.

EDM Buff Tor Wpg have one how is that working out?

Again I think if Bo scores 20 this year , our fans will stop looking at him as a third liner.

I would not be in on Landeskog if I'm JB
Kane I might if he is in fact cheap
I think harmonic is a more physical tanev so JB missed the boat on that if it was true

He has had some of the better analytics for years. Teams knew who he was. It wasn't the Canada Cup that turned him into a respected D

Let me ask you this, would you trade for Draisaitl? Or draft someone like him, regardless of how good Bo may or may not be?

You have to give those teams time for the blue chip C to be an actual 1c and not a projected one ...what if bo scores 13 ? I think he should get 20 but what if he doesn't ? He will end up higher than a 3c I have no doubts ...but how much higher is the question

I hate the oil but the answer has to be yes ...draft I mean ....drai would cost you too much in a trade ...draft and develop

They are bottom feeders now, just like us. However they did fill the pipeline for down the road. Ask that same question in 3 years.

Only to fan bases and media. He stood out in a Loser Tournament . Again I will say , GMs and scouts knew of him prior to this tournament .
