To start with there need be a motive to trade a Tanev.
1st off there is no obvious motive for JB to consider trading him.
He is not being shopped i am sure of it.
If teams come calling JB will listen.
Summary:
Tanev will only fetch a blockbuster trade.
Trading away D rarely gets D in return aka Barrie.
Getting a proven 1C is an obvious priority if a LW sniper is 2nd priority.
Other than Hall who was as good as it gets for a LW i know of no similar sniper who would be offered up.
Lastly in the end he will stay put until our prospects show high calibre NHL talent.
I am open to any trade that makes sense & makes us better but a lateral move idk how that would help us longterm. Edler is aging & nobody else on our D is on or at Tanevs level for what he brings at his contract value/term. EG might be closest but we need QUALITY D n depth to build a cup contender. Trading Tanev is very hard to replace & is a ballsy move if moved. JB either would hit a homerun or set us back years. High risk high reward trades have not happened with JB at the helm. EG might be an argument but it was an organizational move to increase our D depth & quality to compete in our own division. Remains to be seen if JB nailed or not.
I am on board for Drouin cuz TBL need salary dump added to the package.
Reinhart would be awesome. If Buffalo wants to add Tanev cuz serious about being a PO team he would help in a HUGE way. Interesting idea.
Good article Carol, I agree that, unless an offer we can't refuse comes around, Tanev should be untradeable.[/quote
I think that's selective interpretation on your part, he stated unless a there is an offer that can't be refused, my interpretation is he's tradeable for a great offer...OTHERWISE he shouldn't be traded.

All four of the centres i mentioned could be potential replacements for hank or second line centres at a minimum.
Agree on Drouin, he is a first line player, could be on a par with Daniel or Markus in Canuck history if he were to come over.maybe better if his centre is solid.
Canucks young stars and top prospects are the same age as all of those players roughly or exactly. Tanev might help one of those teams who want to either contend now or like the lightning, win the cup.

Thanks for sharing. But I answered the question. Seems like excessive nitpicking...
Also, great offer is less than an, "offer you can't refuse"...
