Why?

Because everyone is arguing about luxury cars and parking spaces.

Never thought I'd wanna see more complaints about Capuano.

Come on how many games have You been to at BC?
Honestly 1 at most and you bought the seats at 20 bucks on a broker site?
Is that the sign of success? Come on.
When you want to see a Pittsburg Pens game at Ecel or a NYR at MSG game on a Tuesday night and it costs you double face that screams success.
Don't kid your self BC sold its tix for half face value last year except to the people that bought season tix. They paid full price. You think they are buying season tix again? Not at full price I can tell you that much.
Your smarter than that this Queens thing has legs and I hope it come to fruition!

I was at 4, including playoffs. And yes, those team's tickets do go over face-value, even when purchased on the secondary market. But if you're ever expecting the Islanders to compete in terms of revenue, attendance and ticket prices of big market teams then you're only setting yourself up to be disappointed. We're the minority team in a major market and that's never going to change. If four consecutive Cups in the 80's didn't change it, then there isn't a chance in hell that it's gonna change anytime soon. A brand new arena in Queens, or anywhere, doesn't change any of that.

Do I like the Barclay's? Sure, it's nice enough. Not great for hockey, but not nearly the travesty and abomination that you're making it out to be. There's no doubt that it's less than ideal, poor even, but it's not like they're playing at the Rinx.

I never said the Queens wasn't a real thing. I think it's very real and I hope it's very real. Now that I'm living out in Suffolk again, I don't want to go the Barclay's from here. I complained enough taking the subway/LIRR from Queens this season and it's only going to be 5x more terrible from where I am now.

I sincerely hope there's a change, but I'm not going to keep getting mad that they're playing at the Barclay's in the mean time. It beats the crap out of having to root for whatever city they may have moved to.

Techically not arguing about parking spaces only their cars just said a bunch of small things could add up in a players decision. Now to appease you cappy sucking as a coach is probably a bigger factor. Also try getting to games from where i live, i went to games at the coliseum because it was eay to get to traffic aside but the barclays was more of a logistical problem as far as getting to it for me. Been to brooklyn a lot but not enough to venture in w the family and get home before 4 am

Why, if they put a good product on the ice, first class "hockey" Venue for the fans to watch them at , I think your cutting your team short. I was around for the 4 Stanley cups and everyone wanted a ticket to watch that team.
Again never hated BC because the alternative was my team not being here. Honestly if the NHL didn't want the 500 million payday from the new team from LV coming into the league they probably never would have given BC the green light to begin with. I'm only saying what I feel is the truth and if you want to be second to none it's not going to be at BC. Just stating the facts, as much as some would like to think its the answer it isn't if your truly going for state of the art or wanting to be an upper echelon team. Sorry, but it doesn't mean I'm not going to BC and routing or supporting my team. I was there for many games last year. That doesn't mean I have to drink the punch and say I love it.

Again , my team is here so for that I'm greatful. As far as watching a hockey game honestly it the last place out of the 17 venues in the NHL I have seen a game in that I would want to go. Just being honest. It not a hockey venue. The patron amenities are nice, bathrooms, consesions etc. but that's all secondary as far as I'm concerned.
You should go and make your own judgement. Don't listen to me because I'm always wrong. Thx JS!

Beg to differ it is. It's not just the players it's the family's etc. it's not convenient these guys are the best of the best and want to be treated that way especially their wives and family's. Remember they come way later to the game.
Ledecky is absolutely right when he addresses the players and their family's because it's important. If you don't think it is your delusional.
These guys busted their ass making it to where they are and if they have a choice you want them to pick The Islanders and not go elsewhere. It's not only the parking, commute etc. it's the whole maggilla. He is not blinded by BS he will make a difference in this franchise one way or another. I have faith in that.

So, it's all about the franchise? Poor f'in millionaires in the biggest market in the US? Been to Detroit in the past few years? They've managed. This move is 3 years in the "works." Not like they didn't have fair warning....album's been out since 1981....

Yes Sir and looking forward to going and watching The RedWings ( With Frans ) play in their brand new venue in 2017. Imagine that Detroit with a brand new venue for hockey.
If that poophole can do it why can't we?

I once heard that the Roosevelt field mall powers that be were in bed with Kate Murray and were heavily against what Wang was looking to build as it woulda been competition for them. Thats why Kate Murray put the kabosh on the lighthouse project.

I think Detroit has it a little easier in the sense of location. Where its the Isles, Rangers, Devil and Flyers all within a short distance of each other. Not saying the Isles can't do it, but unfortunately hockey is the least popular sport and there is only so much of a fan base for each of these teams to pull from.

I believe that was part of it. Along with the fact that all that proposed middle and low income housing was going to plop a large number of new Democrat voters into the Town of Hempstead, which would have helped to shift the balance of power and terrified all those old money Republicans.

This whole arena thing is becoming a sh**show. As long as they stay on geographical LI, I don't care where they play. But lets get some certainty with this already.

Who cares if I been to the Barclay center or not. That makes no difference. If these guys are going to whine and cry over a parking space then who needs ya. There are kids out there who never make it to the NHL and I am sure if they had a chance they would not cry and be like nope I wont take this chance cause I cant park my toy in a parking spot. It is comical

When the Coyotes (Jets) first moved to Phoenix, they played at America West Arena where the Suns play. Never been to BC (live in AZ), but one whole end was obstructed. They put up a video board so you could see what was happening in that end of the ice. It sucked. Took kids and family there for several games a season, sat in some different locations, but still wasn't great for hockey. I know that BC is more state-of-the-art than AW was/is, but obstructed view is obstructed view. It took them 7 years before moving to the arena their in now. Of course watching a game in an arena designed for hockey is a much better experience. So just based on what I've read in here about BC, I think Queens is a lot closer than people think. IMO, what we hear is farther behind than what is actual. Just sayin'.
