Are they going terribly? Just because they are taking their time, I see no mention of animosity. In fact both side seem to be speaking with confidence from everything I've read. Hoffman wants to sign in Ottawa. Dorion insists he will be signed. Granted, that could mean a 1 and done contract, but maybe they are just taking their time?
- MaxTLimit

Rumours galore with Hoffman. Even if some are from EK. If they were going well, they'd have a deal by now. I suspect money is close, but term is a probably an issue. Sens still want to see what he can do but he wants more stability. I fully expect a 1 and done contract like you say through arbitration.

Kane turning himself in makes him a bad player? he had to because of the allegations against him.

if Kane could stay out of trouble he'd be a great player for any team.

i do think it's time to let mac go thought, same with smith we should sell on him while his stock is high

I never said he was a bad hockey player. I just think he is a cancer to his organization and any locker room he steps foot in. Sure He has the talent, but he isn't a core piece to a successful winning team.

As for Mac he would make a very good #3 LW but is over payed for those minutes.

And I agree with tuna on Holland I think a good depth guy and can play up and down the lines without much risk barring major injuries imo this team will be playoff bound new coach will bring much added structure
- MR.Hunter

I don't mind Holland but we really don't need him to be honest, we have a ton of 3-4 line depth and a ton of young guys who are coming up. what we need is top line players

This is a very true statement, we need another impact forward like Stone - a point a game player to help get us big goals.

We have a 1 pound nt per game layer, we need another at forward

That rumor makes no sense for either team. Calgary would be to way over pay and Ottawa would be stupid to get rid of Hoffman

I like how every Hoffman rumour makes "no sense" to Sens fans in general.

People have to take off the Sens goggles and realize the situation we are in with Hoffman. It may be in the teams best interest to move him if we can't lock him in with a legitimate contract. That move may not work with the depth chart perfectly, but you'd at least get something for him (from any team - not just the Calgary rumour) than risking getting less at the deadline or watch him walk July 1 if we only sign him to a 1 year arbitration deal.

Calgary is an interesting rumour. They have RFAs as well to deal with and want to take the next step like Ottawa. Not sure why they should be shrugged off as a possible trading partner.

No sens goggles this time. I'd have no problem trading Hoffman if the return is a top line LW who can score and has at least equal value.

But from a management point of view, we should be signing him long term. Ottawa has a bad reputation and needs to finally back up the promises we've made

I agree. I think they should just give Hoffman a 5/6 year long deal around 5-5.5 mill per. He has a unique skill ability that you cannot teach and has a knack for scoring in key situations.

The management for this organization will always be suspect. I think they are playing with fire with Hoffman and will ultimately have to move him to get ANY value for him. If we are forced to move Hoffman and are stuck holding out to move Hoffman only for an identical left winger, then you'll more than likely see him walk in the summer. I don't like the predicament either, but that's kind of where things seems to be heading.

Get a deal done or start exploring trade options. Right now, they seem to be tire kicking both avenues.

Both Hoffmans agents an management have said they want long term, all comparable players and everyone seems to be pointing at 5-6 years at $5-$-5.5 million. I've said before but I wonder if it's things like bonuses or a no trade that's holding it up.

But personally I have lost the very little faith I had in this management team
