The difference between the Canucks and the Bruins is that the Bruins had their rebuild already. Not the 10 year rebuild that the Oilers and Leafs have had but a minor rebuild. - Bruiniak
Really? When was your rebuild? Your center core is 30+ and the best years are behind them.
Marchand is 28 now. Krug, Millar are in their prime too.

Pastrnak is a good young piece though. - gravyface
We traded Lucic last year because he wasn't in the plans. Several players have left. Sweeney has restocked the prospect pool. PC had traded several young players/ draft picks and Sweeney has done a great job rebuilding it.

I don't think you understand bonuses either. A certain company might offer incentives to their employees while a better employee might get (frank) all from his company because they do things differently. - Bruiniak

Think JFJ said the same thing after taking the helm from Pat Quinn in the early 2000s.

Shouldn't he be restocking with 1st round talent? - burn
That was dig for drafting off the board, right? What about the 3 in a row he took last year? I remember the panelists were pretty shocked a 2 of the 3 and who was left .

They also took a dman who wasn't even the best draft eligible dman from his own team available.
You know what I get a kick out of? How so many hockey fans care more about winning or losing trades than winning or losing hockey games or championships.

It's true at times.
For me, winning the cup comes down to a few things, and winning more transactions than you lose is a part of that. But that's just where the work starts. You've got to have the right coach, right player mentality, a core of solid folks who you have likely drafted that includes a few stars at all positions and that's before you even get to the luck aspect that invariably comes from shooting a plastic disc around a sheet of ice for an hour at a time...

Lamoriello just appears to be dragging his feet with Matthews. Does not show much respect for 1st overall pick - oldhockeyfan
Are we even certain there's any type of contract battle happening? Is there any evidence of it beyond the fact Matthews remains unsigned? Perhaps they just said go back to Arizona and we will see you in the fall when we have a better idea of our cap situation.
