Matthews is overrated I was just told

would've been 3rd overall pick in 2015 if he was a month older. look at the 3rd overall picks over the last 20 years. a handful of star players and then a ton of average to good players. don't expect much.

(i know someone will take this seriously)

I'm not buying it.

Even if you tried you wouldn't sound that clueless.

Take it as a compliment.

The Bruins already have a top 5 prospect pool according to many lists. Continue degrading what Sweeney has done.

To be honest, I've seen them in the top 5 in many team prospect rankings. I really only know top level high end ones myself, but it seems they've struck gold in Carlo and Lauzon as well as a couple 4th and 5th rounders that are slipping my mind. If we could have added Connor and Barzal in there that'd have been great

not sure how they construct their rankings, but it might be more quantity than quality. Who knows

This list is over a year old.

Pastranek isn't a prospect anymore..

You also suggested more than one place has the Bruins in the top 5.

I wasn't arguing the validity of the list themselves, just that I've seen them. I really think it might just be they have a lot of "good" prospects as opposed to teams that have a couple blue chip ones. Idk

Open it up again. They are number 5. ESPN has them at 4. THN had them at 6. Need more?

That's an interesting thought though...

Whats the best thing to have... 2-3 blue chip prospects or a solid pool of quality ones in the hopes one of them evolves into something better.

http://www.sandiegouniont...ick-auston-matthews-to-3/

TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed No. 1 overall draft pick Auston Matthews to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Matthews had 24 goals and 22 assists in 36 games last season for the Zurich Lions in Switzerland and had nine points for the United States at the world hockey championship.

The 18-year-old from Scottsdale, Arizona, immediately became the face of the Maple Leafs' franchise when they selected him first in last month's draft. General manager Lou Lamoriello typically refuses to give bonuses to rookies, but agent Pat Brisson confirmed that Matthews' deal includes the maximum entry-level salary of $925,000 per year as well as bonuses.

Brisson also said: "There were no issues at all getting it done with Lou and the Leafs. Auston is thrilled."

Lou is (frank)ing everything up and Auston is going to sign and play in China...

Definitely blue chips..

I'd trade Dermott, Bracco, Kap, hyman, Sosh for another top 3 pick

You can say my analysis is wrong but don't you say I said something that I did not. I never said that Pastrnak was better than Matthews.
